Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. I am a true 7.5, always have been. All the reviews said to size up. I was skeptical as these are character/dance shoes which 1) should fit snug 2) are made of soft leather that stretches. Glad I bought 1 of each before my event as the size up was way too big. I only half sized up to an 8. Attached photo is the 8.7.5 fit perfect, they’re incredibly comfortable, no need to break in and very flattering.

There is a reason this brand is so popular! The shoe was very comfortable and true to size. It's ability to slide when you ask it to and grip when you need it to has been exceptional. It did scuff rather easily, but it should be easy to fix with a bit of polish. Definitely a steal for the price point.

I have very narrow, high arch feet. As in, I never size up when online reviews tell you to do that for a shoe and never have a problem. In fact, I'm a size 8 that fits in 7.5 sneakers easily. Well, for the first time, this size 8 was just too tight for comfort. I ordered a Capezio size 8 footlight character shoe at the same time and it fits fine with even a little room to spare (but not so much that I'd say return it). But I have to say that this shoe is one time where I'd say, size up... Nice looking shoe. But it really was small for size. And definitely not the comfort level I was expecting from a Capezio dance shoe.

Was told to get character shoes for a theater thing I'm doing. Got these suggested to me by a friend in the cast. Works perfect for what I needed. My arches are high so I was hesitant about the t-strap but they ended up fitting perfect. Well made, not falling apart, even after several months of constant harsh use. Be sure you break them in! Coming back for these again if the ones I have now ever get lost or broken.

I'm a big girl. I'm also pushing 60. So I have noooo use for uncomfortable shoes in my life. But I don't ever want to look matronly. I'm 5'3", 210lbs. I just cannot wear heels anymore. But I have a formal event coming up and my Fitflops sandals just aren't going to cut it. I remembered back from my childhood days hearing my dance instructor saying she wore Cappezio shoes. Let me tell you, these shoes are comfortable right out of the box! No need to add a cushion insole. I'm just sorry I've waited 50 years to finally own a pair! I wear longer dresses so this style of may jane with a low steady heel (but a heel nonetheless) ... looks romantic. These shoes are absolute quality in every way! And if ya want ... have some taps put on the bottoms ... and dance! Ok, yeah ... that was cringe worthy. Bottom line is I am beyond thrilled with my shoes!

The black Capezios shown are 11 years old and heavily used. The tan - purchased here on Amazon - are 3 weeks old. I have other Capezio jazz and character shoes that are years old as well. I don’t know what has happened to Capezio, but please don’t risk purchasing their shoes anymore.The heel broke during a dress rehearsal as I was going down stairs. I did fall and it did hurt. Needless to say, I’ve gone down many a stair successfully in my 11-year-old pair, and many other character and non-character heels throughout my life, so I don’t imagine it was user error. Fortunately besides a lovely bruise or two I wasn’t injured, but the point is - it could have been way worse.When I saw the price and purchased the shoe I assumed it would be the interior and exterior that would be of lesser quality (and it’s true - note the tears in the leather that had never happened to any of my previous character shoes). I only needed the shoes for one show so went with it. Again, I’d had great success with Capezio shoes for years so had no doubt these shoes would last for the 2 months I needed them. It sounds melodramatic, but I feel a little betrayed by the Capezio brand now.I’m shocked Capezio would sacrifice craftsmanship to the point of endangering performers’ safety. Don’t risk it.

The shoes are overall good in terms of comfort and fit, but the buckles are too small for the straps, making it almost impossible to buckle them while they are on your feet. Your only hope is to force the buckles through the straps while they are off of your feet and stretch them to put them on while bucked.

This was my 4th attempt to get a proper dance shoe and this finally worked. I have a size 11 foot - EU 42 - quite reliably. I literally returned 3 other pairs of shoes and finally made the decision to get the more expensive Size 11.5 shoe. I am glad that I did. The other $50-70 range dance shoes were cheap and too small. This was more expensive but the size UP fit and the quality is excellent. Now I am happy. Thank you AMAZON for your excellent return policy.

Mucho mejor de lo que esperábamos, son cómodisimos, acolchados por dentro , con un pequeño soporte en el arco, el tamaño del tacón es el ideal, super bien terminados, la suela dice ser de piel, si es conveniente pedir medio talle más, realmente superaron las expectativas, los compramos de urgencia para luego conseguir unos mejores, pero estos son perfectos.
