I have these as pointers for my rhythm reading centers in my music classes. They are cheap & plentiful, so if one breaks or goes missing, it is not a big deal. Having a pointer really helps the students stay together as they practice reading and pkaying rhythm patterns!

They break incredibly fast. I was gifted some a few years back and they still work great compared to these cheap things.

These are teeny and cheap. Returning.

Anything that helps my students get excited about reading is a good thing in my book. My kids loved using these to track their reading. I’ve seen them use either end & I haven’t had any break, so that’s good. Colorful & kid friendly. Thanks!

These wands are very delicate. They will break very easily. I bought them for students to use as they are reading. I wouldn’t get it as a play toy, they would break very easily.

I always tell my K-2 ELL students to use their "letter detector" to sound out each word and read each word carefully as they read a story or text. It occurred to me that using an item, such as conductor baton would work even better, as I could also point to the word from the other side of the table. When I started to look, I realized a set for students to use would be even better; we could consider it a magic reading wand, to boost their self confidence. My students love them. They are durable and the colors are quite nice. Depending on font size, the star can circle the word and allow them to focus on (we mostly use the side with the ball tip).
