We traveled for 8 hours one way in fog, drizzle, & snow going 80 mph & it held up nicely. Was able to fit 3 suitcases along with a couple bags with no problems. I would advise people to load it while it is on top of your vehicle then, strap it down. The material was very durable & did not get anything wet. Traveled 8 more hours thru rain then, snow & had no problems. Love the mat that comes with it. It didn't move @ all ( & remember doing 80 mph the whole way)!Completely recommend using this if you are taking a Jeep full of family & need more space in the vehicle. Just make sure it can be used with your vehicle (we have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a sun roof) & u shouldn't have any problems. Can't wait to use it on our next 1,000+ mile trip!

I was very reluctant to buy this travel bag, figuring since I didn’t have any storage area on my car, attaching a bag wouldn’t work. The bag includes a waffle style rubber mat, kind of like the mats you put under rugs so they don’t slip. In my case, there wasn’t anywhere to attach it to, so included are four brackets that attach under the weather stripping. It doesn’t damage the stripping. Once those are in place, load up the bag. There is more room than you think. Once it’s full, it zips close. For a more secure feeling, a flap covers the zipper, and Velcros together, making it very secure. It didn’t rain on our trip, but if it had, I’m convinced everything inside the bag would be dry. Once packed, adjust the bag if it moved during packing. There are a total of eight corner straps that just loop around the weatherstripping strap, which we installed first. We used all eight straps, but in reality you only need four. If your vehicle has a rack on top, attach it to all eight areas for a more secure fit. Once it’s all strapped on, either tie, or use a rubber band to secure the loose part of the strap, because they make a noise that everyone swears is the bag coming loose. It isn’t, but it was a bit annoying. I’m glad we had it, and it worked out great.

I used this one a cross country road trip and it worked great. My only complaint is that some water did find itself in somehow, but nothing serious enough to damage anything I had in there.

I think I've written maybe one or two product reviews on Amazon and half bought countless products. I received this car-top travel bag almost a month and half ago and just used it last week. I was so impressed and happy with it that I went back in my orders and decided to write a review specifically for it.We (a couple) used this travel bag to hold anything we put inside vacuum seal bags (clothing, towels, pillows, blankets which totals to a pretty hefty amount of weight on top) and traveled with this thing over 3000 miles from NYC to Seattle in the summer. We hit rain, hail at one point, and incredibly high winds and had it attached to a Honda Civic the entire journey without once removing it. We did it over 10 days. The bag itself is sturdy, much sturdier than I anticipated and was extremely water proof. The bag has a zipper that runs on all sides but one so the bag sorta hinges open like a book. We put the closed side in the front of the car so it took most of the water head on. It wasn't something we initially thought about but now that I go back I realize it was a good decision. I still think the bag would've been water proof either way, though. It also probably helped we had our clothes and items in vacuum bags to extra help fiend off the rain. Those bags weren't wet when we removed them. Many reviews suggest buying extra straps but we didn't use any. Only the ones that came with the bag. We tied it tight on Day 1, and didn't take it off the car until Day 10. It didn't move once, never seemed to be loose, and managed to stay on the car doing 85mph on extremely windy days for 6-10 hrs of driving per day.It was extremely simple to install without a roof rack. As long as your car has the rubber things on the window lining inside the door that can pull off so the hook can hook to the metal beneath the rubber and the rubber placed back onto it you will be able to use this. I was a bit overwhelmed at first, but I quick YouTube search to see other people hooking on similar bags to similar cars made me realize it was extremely intuitive and simple. It comes with an anti-slip mat that goes underneath the bag when its on the roof to help it not scratch the top and not to slide around (however the straps were very secure too).Things of note: The bag is rather large and held more than we were anticipating. Your gas mileage will decrease as to be expected (however we didn't think it was that bad). This thing is bug killer and when you arrive at your destination there will be a full-on bug genocide on the front of the bag (we put on gloves to remove it, then sprays the bag down with a hose). There is no "lock" or security, however, we found the way the bag closed up with Velcro and the zipper made it appear difficult to someone walking by how to get it open/looked like it was a locked thing. We kept the car parked in major urban areas and didn't have much of a problem but that is something to keep in mind. You could easily buy a lock that goes into the zippers (however the zippers can just be pulled off with the lock then) to maybe deter people, but the thing itself looks pretty secure to the naked eye.Overall: If you're wondering about the quality of this product and if it will do what you want it to: GET IT. It's better than we expected!

I had only used this carrier 4 times and the zipper broke off. I don't mean the pull tab broke which happens and can be easily fixed. I mean the entire metal part of the zipper broke and came off the carrier making it unusable. Of course it happened when we were traveling in inclement weather, so our stuff was damaged. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Absolutely perfect. We ran through rain and it's 100 percent waterproof. Zips well,it was a great deal. We love that it's made from thick material. Held up great and never moved an inch. We drove over 200 miles first use. We love it.

It was what we expected But what it doesn’t tell you is how loud of a sound it makes.. between the straps and fabric flapping the sound was so loud we could barely talk in the car.

I was skeptical at first. I don't have luggage rack bars on my Durango, but did have some anchor points up top. I used some spring clips and attached the straps to them.Just drove 2500 miles with 5 different places to spend the night. It held perfectly. No damage anywhere. Watertight, and we went through bad weather.Definitely worth it!

Product is great for extra room in a compact car. Used on a 16hr drive going highway speeds and it held up just fine. Super handy!
