OK tool, Really not sure I needed it. It does what it says it does, holds two pieces of wire. I don't understand the "lock" lever, it did not come with any instructions. Without touching the "lock" you can continue to squeeze the tool and the device continues to move. The lock lever only allows you to open the jaws? It is well built.

These are nice and very helpful when trying to hold two wires together to solder. I would've bought one sooner if I had known. Working on automobiles trying to solder is a pain because you need a second person to hold the two wires together. This plier works great for that.

I tested these on 14 AWG wire, which might be more than it is designed for. The wire latches cannot hold the wire hard enough, so when you close them the wire strands will not mesh, but instead it just pushes the wire out of the latches. This might not be the case of thinner gauge wire. What would be nice is if the latches were replaced with thumb screws to hold the wire in place. Works better if you just do a twisted splice as opposed to meshing the strands.
