This carburetor works great just out of the box. Had bad results from previously purchased carbs. I would say this is a later produced item and has been improved, particularly the carburetor input jet. It appears to extend further into the throat of the carburetor. After installing it, pushing the primer jet, it started the first pull and continues to work properly to this day.

Fell a tree right on my mower. Busted to hell didn't think it would come back. Bent it back into shape, slapped this puppy on and it runs like new

I got this after I forgot to run my mower dry for the winter and the carb became gunked up. I was going to have the local lawnmower guy rebuild it, but for the price, replacing was a much better option. I am somewhat mechanical but had never done this before. There were no real instructions, but I watched a couple of YouTube videos and got the gist. With just a few tools (nut drivers, screwdriver, and visegrips to choke off the fuel line), and being careful to note how the old one came off, I was able to swap this out in just about 30 minutes and my mower was back in business.

I bought 2 others for the same 550ex but didn't notice the small differences in them until compared. This was the model I needed and it works fantastic

I have a power washer by Sears that worked great. Last year it ran out of gas while being used and even after I filled the gas tank it would not start. I suspected the Carb was clogged, but the cheap Carb could not be removed. Luckily Amazon had a replacement. I replaced the old one and it started the first time. Unfortunately, many gas engines are now made with cheap China parts and these manuf. only care about money and not quality.
