The OEM (Subaru) doesn't offer a parking brake parts kit and you have to purchase each parking brake hardware separately. This Carlson Parking Brake Hardware Kit worked perfectly and the quality was comparable to OEM parts. After installation the hardware is working perfectly. Hopefully the longevity is present as well. Everything fit as needed on the 2011 Subaru Forester X.UPDATE: Approaching 1-year mark after installation and the parts are still in very good working order.

These kits do not come with the brake shoe pins with a flat head screw driver slot for easy installation. I had to use a small cutting wheel to make this screw driver slot. Without this slot it is almost impossible to install these pins being unable to turn them to lock in place.

I couldn't even install the red springs. They wouldnt compress enough. I just used my old ones. Otherwise the kit is good.

Overall a good quality spring kit. Would order again.My only problem was that the two compression springs holding the shoes to the rear plate were very hard to compress and I had to pull out a specialized tool to get the crown and the clip to line up.
