I installed one of these brake pad retainer wire clips on each side of my old rusty front brake calipers, casting #S13WE. As listed, they were a good fit on the pins, matched the old retainer wires and supply extra resistance to keep my pads from seizing onto the brake rotors. Now I have two retainer wires in each caliper in the top and bottom sections of the pads in my 2000 Tundra. My old rusted and seized front brakes are functioning properly again with these Carlson retainer clips, fresh Dot 3 brake fluid and Permatex Silicon Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant applied on the two brake pad mounting pins, on the back of the pads, shims, inside the piston bores and around the outside of the pistons. Steel micro-files and fine grit polishing sandpaper helped restore the pistons, bores and caliper surfaces after soaking the stuck dual pistons sideways in PB Blaster sprayed along the pistons' edges into the bores for about a week on each side. After removing the brake fluid reservoir cap, I used a C-clamp and a Lang Tools brake caliper press to depress the pistons. The C-clamp, or a pry bar, is necessary to get a wide enough gap between the pistons to fit the Lang Tools caliper press in place for ratcheting them into the bores. This took two to three times each as they were still seizing in the outward position after being pushed inward. I had a pair of pistons eject from the bores at one point when I applied the brake pedal with no brake pads installed. This actually gave me the chance to sand the tarnishes on the pistons with polishing paper as the brake fluid dripped out into a can, clearing out the sediment that had been clogging the brake line and piston valves. After reinstalling the shims and pads with these Carlson clips my front wheels spun freely again when the truck was lifted and the brakes are now functioning properly again. My shop C-clamp cracked on the corner from the pressure on the second caliper but that can be glued or replaced.

Surprisingly expensive, but they do the job. Got rid of that annoying brake rattle on my 88 Toyota pickup.

I'm not sure what OEM springs were like because.... I think they got installed backwards at some point and the rotor wore them .. off. Anyways, these seam to fit ok except they are a little long between the spring end and the bend around the pin. This makes them rub against the caliper housing a little which causes them to "bind" of sorts and not return the pad all the way back out.I think they will work fine in practice, they just acted a little funny on the bench. Regardless, they are better than the anti rattle springs I had before.

Good springs that appear well made. They are stronger than the ones on my truck. Should keep the pads wearing evenly. My Tundra only had one spring per caliper. Outer pads wore much quicker than the inners ones. So installed two springs per caliper.
