I've seen several reviews that seem to have unrealistic expectations. This is an inexpensive, mass-produced, and fairly large piece of furniture. And for what it is, it's maybe the best I've seen.Is it a pain to put together? Sort of, but not really. Yes, it is one of those allen wrench and pre-drilled holes things, and none of those are exactly fun to assemble, but this was simple and compared to similar furniture surprisingly easy. The instructions were clear, all the hardware was there, and I had it done in an unhurried 40 minutes including disposal of the packaging. No, it's not perfect. The drawer doesn't glide in and out like an expensive drawer would. One of the screws doesn't seem to have actually grabbed wood so I'll have to drive another in (or just not bother.) But this isn't an heirloom piece of furniture, it's basically just a cheap table designed to be used for a while until it breaks and gets tossed. It looks pretty nice, though any woodworker would spot it for what it is almost immediately. If you're looking for something beyond that you need to look elsewhere, and be prepared to spend a lot more cash. I bought this for an apartment I'm renting because it's functional, looks decent, was the right fit in the space, and if a tenant trashes it or takes it I won't mind very much. If I was going to get something like this for my home I'd probably just build it (decent hardwood, rails, and other materials alone would cost about as much as this table) or buy one from a competent woodworker. You get what you pay for, and this unit isn't fine furniture, but it exceeded my expectations.

First: Unpack everything carefully and take a few photos as you do, on the off chance you'll have to return it. That wasn't an issue for this piece but you never know with this kind of furniture.Second: Inspect all pieces and make sure that everything is as it should be and that nothing is missing. Again, not an issue this time.Assembly: Under an hour. As others mentioned, attach the top by putting it upside down on a table. I assembled the whole thing on my kitchen table with a folded sheet covering the table to prevent any possible damage to either. This really helped when I could move the partially assembled piece to the edge of the table to have clearance using the Allen key on some spots. The key is a good one, a higher quality than most others included with such furniture. You will also need a Phillips screwdriver. I used a small ratchet screwdriver with a Phillips bit and it helped a lot. TIP: Please don't use battery-powered or electric tools for this project since it's best to be able to feel how far you're going with hand tools. I slightly split one piece (*very* minor and in a concealed area, so not a big deal) just by hand-tightening. Do not over-tighten!Top: The real wood top is beautiful and finished perfectly. Great quality. Don't use it as a cutting board, that's not what it's made for.Drawer: One screw for one drawer side didn't seat well, and it wasn't stripped, but alternating the tightening of all other drawer screws brought it into line. There's a bit of a messy spot on the drawer interior where the front meets the side (see photo), so I'll take care of that tomorrow. The drawer is very shallow, but good for small stuff. The drawer glides work well but due to the slight balance issue (see below), the drawer doesn’t sit quite flush on the left, but it's not noticeable unless you really inspect it very closely. TIP: When you see the drawer sides, and the metal glides look bent, they're not! Save yourself some swearing. 😄Balance: The piece is slightly off balance, but once I shoved it against the wall, that was no longer an issue. Our old-house floors are uneven but I moved the piece around and found that the floors aren’t the problem. No biggie considering the price. I paid around $140 but found this after weeks of searching, and it's absolutely perfect for a difficult spot in our kitchen, so I'm happy. And after years of making do and using crap alternatives, I no longer tolerate even minor flaws easily unless they're outweighed by the overall quality, fit, and cost, which they are in this case.Paint: As expected and true to the images. The finish is not glossy, not distressed, not rough, and is white but not glaringly so -- more like a soft white but not off-white or cream. There are a few minor globs in some of the joins. Nothing major.Overall quality: Some of the wood joins are mildly iffy, but not enough to worry about for a piece of this (cheap) price. The two slatted shelves don't have a front and back nor does it matter which is the upper or lower shelf, so I installed them according to how well the joins looked and what I'd be storing on each. Easy. The wood isn’t chipped or dented anywhere and you'd have to look *real* close to find minor faults.I'll be using it for a dog feeding station, and will cut the water mat to fit the bottom shelf (see photo). Will store more dog stuff on the top shelf. The bottom shelf is the perfect height for the dogs' water bowl, and there's enough room between the bottom and top shelf so the dogs can drink comfortably. One of our dogs is half boxer and part pittie and hound, and the other is mostly pittie and some hound, and both girls had no problem with drinking from the bottom shelf. They're about 50 pounds each with long legs, and our boxer mix girl is scared of anything new, but she drank from the bowl on the bottom shelf immediately.I measured sooooo many times from all different angles and this piece fits perfectly in the space in our kitchen, with enough room to fully open the cabinet drawers to the right (see photo), doesn't interfere with the window to the left, and is exactly the same height as our countertops, so it works just as well as I hoped it would.

We loved it and are sad we cannot use it in our home. We bought it to go in our kitchen between the refrigerator and a cabinet. My husband measured the opening. The heighth and the width and it was a perfect fit. However! The builder didn’t and the back part of the opening (next to the wall) was 1/2†narrower than the opening. 😪 The seller has graciously approved a return. We would definitely buy the product and from the seller again. It has been a very positive experience except for width discrepancy in our home.

I love this little stand! My daughter gifted me an air fryer, but it wouldn't fit on my counter. I purchased this little island, and it's perfect. Adds a little storage, too. Very sturdy, went together easily.
