I don't know if it's commendable or pathetic, the delight most of us take in providing our pets with things we think will bring them enjoyment or improve their health and wellbeing. Pathetic or otherwise, I was so looking forward to my cat's pleasure when she stepped out of the litterbox onto this soft and comfy litter-trapping mat. (Not to mention how happy I would be at less litter tracking around the house.) But after a few days of use, I noticed no reduction in the amount of litter on my hardwood floors and area rugs, and almost none on the mat. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't helping, and as my cat seems to be rather stealthy when checking into the "Sands Hotel," it was difficult to find the reason. Finally, I caught her LEAPING OVER THE MAT at check-out time. She was perfectly happy walking onto the previous (and not quite effective) litter catcher I was using, which was a plastic grid tray, and couldn't have been nearly as comfortable as stepping her little paw pads onto this plush, super-soft new mat. But just like humans, cats have their personal eccentricities, and when adopting an already-adult feline with a completely mysterious past, it can take a while before the full assortment of odd character quirks reveal themselves. And one of my recent adoptee's idiosyncrasies is apparently preferring to exit the litter box onto a hard surface rather than having her toes caressed, and excess litter removed, by a soft mat. Maybe she'll be interested in using it as a nap mat at some point. But for now, I've rolled it up and stored it, returning to using the former ineffective plastic litter trapper (which she perversely doesn't jump over), and continue to sweep multiple times a day, yet no matter how many times I sweep, I still hear the sound of litter granules exploding underfoot. But this is a great mat, and most likely any other cat would welcome it. As other reviewers mentioned, it comes very nicely packaged, with clear cleaning instructions. But of course we can't expect a warning caveat that the rare, odd cat may shun its appeal. Your cat(s) will surely love and appreciate it, and so will you.

I went on a mission to stop the kitty litter from spreading throughout my place and these do help. I bought two and they work. I shake them out and can see lots of kitty litter gets caught. These are not the only things I use. I built enclosures (Hzuaneri Cat Litter Box Enclosure, Plastic Covered Little Box) and use a "waffle" mat inside them too. I placed these mats out side and they look nice, perform well. The litter appears to be all contained. I see very little litter outside the boxes. I think these two mats are a good purchase. I like the variety of colors. I bought a light grey. They are also soft and fluffy. I have 4 kittens and every once in awhile I see a corner ruffled because they are soft. I use carpet tape/adhesive and that keeps the kittens from flipping them around.

We are very impressed with this mat! It catches any stray pieces of litter before it can scatter onto the wood floor. It also looks very nice and is super easy to keep clean. Highly recommended!

Size and material were as expected. Didn't expect my cat to play with the rug. It's fairly lightweight. Rug does seem to trap cat litter, if you can get your cat to step out on the rug in stead of going sideways out of the box!

It works the best I've found so far in capturing the litter from the cat's paws. It is very soft, much softer than the plastic mats I've used before. This makes it easy on the cat's paws. It looks nice and looks a lot like regular carpeting, but the genius is the design when you look up close. Unlike the plastic "webby" mats, which one of my cats like to eat, it is well made. I haven't seen my cats try to scratch it yet, but it looks sturdy enough to stand up to occassional kitty clawing.

Because I have an elder cat and I'm never quite sure where he is going to take his absolutions (to use my grandmother's words), I bought two extra large of these to serve as "rugs" for our porch area at the beach house. I just ordered two Mediums for the litter boxes. If you ever make an XXL-L meaning 60 inches long, please let me know as it would be great under my porch's bistro set. Love the knobby feel under the barefeet and their washable function is great for the sand and other debris that finds it way through the screened porch.

Soft, thick, and looks great. The size is perfect for what I wanted, a bit oversized so you could put your litter box on it or like I do, I have it just outside an enclosed litter box. Works really well collecting litter, and easy to shake out. I don’t know about washing yet, so we’ll see how long it lasts once I started needing to wash it. I’m happy with it with the purchase though, and I thought it was a great price point. I plan to buy a second for under the other litter box.

The 2 previous mat did not work for our cat : he avoided ‘touching’ on and literarely ate the second one. This one is perfect : sturdier so not easily ‘eateable’ and comfortable (the cat sleeps on it!)

Could have bought a bath mat instead.

5 Paws up! According to my cat. I got the XL one and it is a bit big for the space I have my kitten's litterbox but she loves it. She lies on and it and is super soft. Easy to clean and so much better than the plastic ones. I am noticing less litter scattered around the room now too. As long as my kitty is happy, I am happy!

This is a lot better than plastic mats that let litter roll off. It's great for pellet litter, lightweight litter, or regular litter. Highly recommend. Washable which is nice too.

I received these mats just a few days ago (purchased 2). The mats themselves are nice, don’t get me wrong. But my 2 cats are usually all over anything I lay on the ground (rugs, towels, clothing, etc.) but not these mats. One of my cats seems ok-ish with them, but my other cat is totally avoiding them. I actually sprinkled a bit catnip to see if that would help, still would not walk on them. So had to put their old cat litter mats on top of these new ones so they would still use the litter boxes. I’m hoping they will get used to them soon, or I may have to return them…cause they’re not cheap!
