The stepper motor replacement fixed my speedometer. While I had the cluster out, I replaced the other stepper motors on the fuel gauge and temperature gauge as well. All is good as new.

I replaced the pots for the speedo and fuel gauge. So far the speedo hasn’t gone wonky. I’m not sure how accurate the fuel gauge is yet.I’ll update after some time.

They work so far after about a month in service and several long trips. Previously my gas gauge and tach were not reading correctly in my 2005 Buick LeSabre but now after replacing the oem stepper motors with these jewels the gauges have been working well.

Fixes the issue they had for several years with GM vehicles having speedometer problems. You can watch online tutorials, however my best suggestion is do this when the vehicle is ambient temperature and hasn’t been started in quite some time. If the water temp is up it will cool while you are soldering in this part and will read incorrect if you put the needles back where they were when you dissembled. I have had to tweak the water temp and oil temp gauges since replacing and wish I had done while the vehicle was cold. Other than that these deserve 5 stars.$400 to $500 repair at a shop reduced to less than $15 and a beer with your buddy in the driveway and took roughly an hour to replace.

You need basic solder skills to install these. If you have that, they will save you a lot of money if you have a malfunctioning instrument cluster, especially on older vehicles. When removing old steppers, make sure pins are de-soldered completely before pulling the old ones off so you don't damage traces. After that, install the new steppers, and solder them on to the board and your cluster should be good as new.
