It arrived nice and safe and I was actually surprised at how nice it was for the price. The pickup with headphones (I use skull candy ear buds, not the ones that came with it) sometimes goes in and out when your turn the plug, and it took some fiddling to get the tone right, but it's wonderful for practicing, which is why I got itIt can be heard in the next rooms, but it's not at a disturbing level. It's a whisper. You could easily play without turning it on.Replace the strings. Your tone will thank you.Mine was a warehouse deal, so the paint is a little bit in need of love, but I plan on painting it anyway.The accessories are of amazing quality. I was surprised. The cleaning cloth especially. The inside of my case was blue, which is so pretty. The case also has the back pack straps for easy carrying. Wonderful.

It's what you pay for. It's fine. Don't expect a lot obviously. But you can definitely enjoy playing this and use it for average live shows if suited. I don't recommend it for recording. There's something very weird in the output signal (you can even appreciate the problem visually in the graphic of the wave when you recorded).

This was purchased as a Christmas present for our 11 year old daughter who has been playing the violin for approx. 3 years. Considering the price we didn't really have very high expectations but we were pleasantly surprised that everything that was supposed to be in the package was. The tuning of the violin has proven to be a challenge for my daughter but we told her not to expect this violin to sound exactly like her acoustic one. She was very pleased at how 'cool' it looked and has been playing with it with no problems.

Some assembly required, and tuning. Once set up complete it’s comfortable and the modern design adds new dimension to how I play the instrument in adding to the “emotion†of play!

We had read the various reviews and thought this violin would be worth a go for our son, to allow him to practice more quietly. We just wasted our time and I'm sure some shipping charges.The Good - price... cool looking design... priceThe Bad - the finish really wasn't very good. It really wasn't much better than you'd get from a can of Krylon. The strings are poor quality, to the point one broke during initial tuning.The Ugly - The sound was horrible and worse yet, there were cracks in the frame near the chin rest. Those cracks should have had this tossed off the assembly line.After 15 minutes with this violin, it was apparent it needed to be returned.
