Your cart is empty.A Visual Back is a metal adapter that screws onto the standard rear cell threads of Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes and accepts 1.25” accessories, including diagonals, eyepieces (for straight-through viewing), Barlows, webcams, and any other accessory with a 1.25” insert barrel. All Celestron 5”, 6”, 8”, 9.25” and 11” Schmidt-Cassegrains come standard with the 1.25” Visual Back. To use 2” diagonals on a Celestron 5” - 11” Schmidt-Cassegrain, remove the visual back and thread on a 2” diagonal made especially for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, such as the Celestron 2” XLT Diagonal (#93527).

I "inherited" a 5-inch, classic, original orange-tube Celestron from an estate, however, it did not have several accessories, one being a visual back (don't know why). As an earlier review mentioned, there were concerns that the thread pitch on the rear of earlier C5s was different than current smaller Celestrons, and that this current visual back model might not work..I received it a few days ago, and it mounts to the back of the scope just fine - a good, solid fit, with no thread-slop. It does have only the one tightening thumbscrew for eyepieces, star diagonals, etc., so be sure to firmly tighten any large accessories well. All in all, it will help in bringing this old orange girl back to a productive life - would certainly recommend it.

I recently got a secondhand Celestron telescope/spotting scope which is basically a Celestron C5 but not labeled as such. I read online that some of the old C5s have a slightly different thread pitch and that this part won't work on them, which could be very problematic because it's kind of an essential part. Anyway, I'm happy to report that this worked perfectly, it threaded on all the way and Once I put an eye-piece in it I was able to focus it and use it for viewing.Mine is the black tube, black end-cap version that came before the pumpkin orange one, if I understand it correctly. The end caps are identical to the orange model but this one is all black. Serial number is only 3 digits.Anyway, hopefully this review helps someone else get their antique optics up and working.

Chiaramente usato. Scritte scolorita e un mini mini graffietto esterno. Questa volta Amazon ha toppato. Ma il prezzo pagato e l'estrema urgenza del prodotto nonché il suo stock limitatissimo mi fa desistere dal renderlo.
