doing the work is sort of tedious and you have to be careful but everything worked great and now i basically have new speakers. the directions are good. the glue works great, be careful when you apply it and lay the surrounds on because it won't come off once its stuck to something without solvent and getting it on your fingers can make pressing the foam down hard because your fingers stick. try to follow the directions exactly because they remind you to keep working the surround slightly for a little while to make sure its sticking to the speaker correctly. took me a little over 3 hours to do and it was helpful that i had a cheap generic exacto knife set so i could use the right blades to scrape off the old foam from the metal. be careful on the speakers themselves with a razor... i know that sounds like a lot but you can do it just take your time. it was worth it for me because these cerwins cost $200 apiece 15 years ago. i waited longer than the prescribed drying time before hooking them up again but i gave 'em hell with 2 monoblock amps... sound great, nice and tight and about a month later of use are still working fine with no separation or anything i can see or hear.

I thought reasonably priced to make my old expensive Cerwin Vega speakers sound as they did when they were new! Detailed instructions show you how to go about removing the old installing the new ! And now work beautifully!

5 stars for the product. 4 stars for the seller. I purchased these foam rings to repair my 80's Cerwin Vegas. It's basically a craft project that takes patience. Unfortunately they arrived missing the glue. When I reached out to the seller they blamed Amazon packaging rather than offer to send me a $2.00 tube of glue. Amazon refunded me and allowed me to keep the foam rings. I used some flexible Tacky glue I had around and my speakers sound better than ever. I appreciate Amazon's customer support.

It galled me to spend $25 on a couple scraps of foam. But when compared to the cost of buying new speakers, one could argue it is the deal of the century. Of course, to get that "deal" means you have to do all the work. It's not hard but can be messy and time consuming. To its credit, the company provides some excellent videos detailing the repair process. It wasn't quite as easy as they made it look but certainly doable by anyone with moderate mr fixit abilities. I did two 10 inch Cerwin Vegas (13 years old) and my biggest concern was ensuring the cone was centered in the final repair. Turned out not be a major issue since the cone self centers for the most part. The glue is messy grabs quickly, especially if you use small amounts as I did. If I do this again, use more glue to give yourself time to slide the foam into place. It is very flimsy gets out of round easily so you need a little time slide it into a centered position. Take your time and make sure the cone travels freely before you let it dry. I have a 12 subwoofer that will likely need this treatment in the near future and will go this route again. My only question is, why can't they use a material more durable than plastic-based foam for these parts. It crumbles to dust far too quickly in hot humid climates like Florida's. (No surprise this company is based in Florida.)

Follow the video to the letter. Dont rush drying times. This saved me having to get new front L R speakers. They are as good as when I bought them some 30 years ago. Thanks to this rebuild .. to quote Vanilla Ice : with the base kicked in and the Vegas are pumping.

Watch the videos! The written instructions are very good but I'm sure I'd have screwed up without the videos. They help you relax by seeing how to scrape the foam off, and tidbits like leaving glue residue not a big deal. Actually pretty easy, said after completing. And, most important, the speakers now sound awesome. Bass is back! I almost bought replacement speakers until I saw this product. Saved me hundreds of dollars. If you're reasonably handy I think you can do this. For example, I would put drywall repairs or painting trim without tape at least as difficult. But it is nerve wracking to scrape a paper cone with a razor knife.

I thought my speakers were trash because the foam had deteriorated. After speaking with a friend, I discovered this product. Fixing was straightforward and my speakers now sound great! I also purchased another set and used them to fix a pair of Bose 301s that a friend was going to throw away but gave to me. Great product and easy to install!
