This cookie jar was ordered because if fit the decor of our kitchen. And, of course, because we needed a cookie jar. construction is solid, the rubber gasket works very well, and shipping of this ceramic jar kept it safe. Highly recommended.

This product arrived securely packed and in perfect condition.When I unpacked this canister, I could not believe how lovely it looked.The glazing is smooth and even, with just enough faint brush strokes visible to tell you it is hand painted and finished.The colours are bright and clear, and the shape and design of the cookie jar and lid are attractive and easy to grip securely while using.The lid has a removable gasket to keep the contents fresh and dry, and makes it easy to clean.The glazing feels smooth and it shines with a beautiful luster. It is also covered inside and out with a clear glaze (the inside is a perfect apple white) that makes the surface a pleasure to touch and also easy to clean.I hand washed and dried the jar and lid before filling, to remove any fine clay dust.I would recommend hand wash only, to keep the colours bright and prevent the glaze from abrading.Hint: I bought this to use as a larger flour canister, as most sets now do not include a container large enough for all staple baking ingredients.This canister / cookie jar is large enough to easily hold a small bag of flour.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LXLOQK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is a well made ceramic jar, nicely finished, with a lid that seals. 4 stars instead of 5 due to being a bit pricey.
