What do you do if you've a nice leather belt, but it's too long? Cutting of the end and adding a new cinch hole leaves a rough, ragged tip exposed when buckled. These screw-rivets (1/4" - 3/8" are best) allow one to shorten the belt from the buckle end, Even if you lack a leather punch, the holes you cut at that end to fold the belt around the buckle loop will be hidden from sight. These enable a workmanlike result from a do-it-yourselfer.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. The value was there, the quantity was there, and the quality seems top notch. I can't attest to how rust resistant they'll be as of right now, but that is knowledge that the future will hold! But for now, they seem like they'll be perfect!

My porch has vents that open and close. Over the years, the pivot shafts break. I used to use a bolt & nut combination to replace the broken shafts. It worked, but had issues with the nuts coming off etc. These things resolves all of those issues. I now have unrestricted movement of the vents. Love these things.

Putting together small sets of cards. These work great. A bit hard to start with large fingers.

Arrived intact in NZ and earlier than expected. What can I say, service is great and so are the chicago screws. So cool having an online store that is so very reliable!

Recently lost 35 lbs. and 5 inches on my waste. I had 6 belts that would be junk of funky if I just punch more holes in them. I decided to shorten them by moving the buckles and using these to fasten the belt to the buckles and voila, about $250 worth of belt resized. I am going to use them to resize my gun holster as well as my chest have also shrunk and I am out of adjustments on those straps as well. A must have if you are going to hold leather or similar materials together. Use locktite to keep the bolts from loosening.

These rivets are not made of stainless steel! I became suspicious of the color tone when they looked a lot like the other plated rivets I have. (Typically stainless steel has a more drab gray undertone not shiny bright silver.) Put them up to the magnet test and sure enough, they latched on right away!Other specs for size and appearance seem to be correct. I will keep these since I have other projects I can use them on, but if you truly need stainless steel be warned!I have to say, I don't love the fact that the seller places this incorrect information right in the title of the listing, even shamelessly advertising that the item will 'never rust'. This leads me to wonder if this is an effort to garner search results and misguided purchases (like mine) until Amazon catches on. If so, not cool!
