Get one of these and you'll wonder why you ever made popovers in muffin tins. The drama associated with making popovers in this pan is well worth the expense of yet another pan! I watched them through the oven door while they were baking and could barely wait for them to finish. They were really tall, nicely browned, crusty and light as a feather! The photo posted,(not a user photo) does not do justice to what the popovers look like when they are finished baking. The pan is well constructed and sturdy. I buttered the cups, and the popovers came right out. Clean up was a breeze. This is the pan you need for perfect popovers, and I recommend it.

I ate at a restaurant that served Popovers and loved them and decided I was going to make them at home. Amazon came to my rescue because I could not find a popover pan in the local stores and I must say that I lucked out. The pan is excellent and is perfect for my needs. I've already made two batches of popovers and the come out GREAT. I got the one that makes 6 at a time because I am a household of two. But if I had my grown children living with me, I would have purchased the one that holds 12. Anyway, its a great item and does a perfect job. And it is so easy to clean and maintain. Compact and easy to handle....I dont know what more to say! I recommend it if you are in the market to make popovers. If you have never had a popover, you are missing out on something special. Buy this item and get into the kitchen. You wont be disappointed. I promise you!!!!

Update: While this pan does work well, it does wear out. Eventually the non stick coating started to flake and we had to discard the pan. We opted not to replace it after a couple of times. We've used cupcake pans and even coffee cups in the interim until we can find something more lasting.-----We have really enjoyed this popover pan. It was purchased to accompany our first popover pan as our family grew and we needed to make more popovers at once. Surprisingly, the original popover pan (a different brand) purchased from a "designer kitchen store" started falling apart, and now we own two of these pans. It has taken us a while to find the perfect recipe...ours is a mix of several we have tried. For one batch (6 popovers): Heat oven 410 degrees. Whisk 1 cup flour, 3 eggs, 1 cup milk and 2 tbsp oil. Do not over whisk. Once oven is to temp, spray pan cups with cooking spray. Divide batter into the 6 cups. We bake for ~ 26 minutes (convection oven). This seems to make a slightly crunchy exterior with a soft chewy interior. Top with your preference but we love butter and honey! Enjoy!

Wish I had noticed this is not a mini pan. It works ok but the final product is not as light or tall and takes longer to bake - probably better for Yorkshire pudding. For all of you who have problems with sticking...put your pan in the oven when you turn it on. Heating the pan in advance is the secret. Don't oil the pan before heating, it will just smoke. Here is my recipe for six MINI popovers (not this pan, get a mini-popover pan). I've tried adding cheese, using buttermilk, using one less egg...trust me, these all failed. Just go with this recipe and you'll get a great batch: 1 T. butter slightly melted, 1/4 t. salt, 2 eggs whipped in, 1/2 C. whole milk, 1/2 C. flour (I use Spelt due to gluton issues but all-purpose is fine). Blend all together while oven pre-heats with pan in the oven. Take pan out, spray six cups with Pam, wipe tops to avoid baked-on oil build-up, fill equally and bake 16-18 minutes. Of course just double for a full rack of 12 minis. There are only two of us so we only make six. Split, butter, jam and eat while still hot and steamy - delish!

After watching an episode of "In Plain Sight" in which Donnie Wahlberg guest starred and kept talking about popovers, I had a sudden urge! But I didn't have pans good enough for popover-making. I read the amazon reviews of this Chicago Metallic 6-Cup Popover Pan, and ordered it right away.It really is spectacular when you use the popover recipe enclosed with the pan. They were huge, fluffy where they should be, crispy where they should be, and had a nice buttery taste. Since the pan is supposed to be heated before pouring in the batter, I put a cookie sheet under the popover pan, and poured the batter into the cups while the pan was in the oven. The cookie sheet caught any spillage.A couple of days later, I tried another popover recipe. They baked well in the pan, but were not as big and fluffy as the others.I would absolutely recommend this popover pan AND the popover recipe included with it.

Amazing quality. Thick rolled steel. Even after all these years, through dish washer-ings, and more than a hundred popovers, this pan is still releases like day one! It's a tiny bit unwieldy! It takes up a considerable amount of room in our cookie sheet cupboard (and the open space between the cups can get caught on other pans, leading to some pan-jumbling), however, for its intended purpose, we've never had one seconds' worth of trouble. Well worth every single star I've given it-- FIVE.

I have had many of these Chicago Popover pans over the years in many different kitchens and have always been extremely satisfied so I have a new kitchen and this was naturally one of the first purchases. I don't just use it for popovers but I also make cupcakes and mousselines and babas in it so it is not a one trick pony. The heavy gauge of the cups makes for excellent baking quality. Their enclosed recipe is the only one I use. Nothing compares to a fresh, hot popover at any meal. This Chicago Pan is the Rolls Royce of Popover Pans and is a perfect investment!
