This variator nut out of the package was better than the previous 17mm ones. This nut is thicker and heavier and will stand up to the torque and vibration better than the "cheap" nut.I don't know if it's just the manufacturing process or luck, but this last one was definitely worth it. The "cheap" nut only lasted about 1 year so I recently received this one and could tell when it was installed it would last a lot longer. The "cheap" nut came loose due to vibration and the threads were stripped.
