I was 'improving' my office. I was frustrated with my wireless set-up. I wanted the router close to the wall outlet (DSL) but I wanted to be able to move it 'however far' and a fixed length cord wasn't going to meet the bill. This cord met the bill: It's two feet but stretches out to over eight feet. This 2' Cisco cord has a connector that is physically smaller than a standard RJ-11, but the internal wiring matched up perfectly (clear connectors). The Cisco cord clicked into my wall outlet firmly. The Cisco cord is a little loose in my router connector but hasn't given me any problems yet. In the end, it's a phone cord that works well for me.

Definitely double check what kind of phone cord if you are ever looking to replace, they are not all the same like I had originally thought. I finally did research on the phone cord that I needed and I have a cisco phone, so this cord is specially made for those cisco brands. This fit my phone perfect, I had a cord that was stretched out all the way, was getting tangled in chair, that long, that annoying, so a new one was in desperate need. This cord, completely stretched out is 12ft, but with nice tight coil its two feets. I still need a little stretch while im one the phone from my computer to the printer that is about 3ft away so this cord has made my life so much easier. I have been using it for a few months nown and the cord is still holding strong with its tight coil, I can reach where I need to, and it does not look like I will need to replace this cord for a good long time. Highly recommend!

I bought this because I was tired of my work phone sliding across my desk when I sat back in my chair. The cord that comes with the Cisco phones is barely long enough to use, so this one is a welcome replacement. Above everything else, it works and the color is a close match to the original. But it's not perfect. The color isn't exact, though I realize my original has probably faded over the years. Also the finish and coil tension are different - the OEM Cisco one is smoother feeling and more tense than this one. I don't think this new one is going to maintain its shape and coil like an OEM one has/would.Overall, the price was good and it'll work for now. I just felt these caveats were worth mentioning.

Has good spring to it but not TOO tight. I'm using mine in a capacity other than a telephone handset, and it conducts low amperage electricity very well. Glossy black appearance adds to appeal.

Cisco Handset Black Curly Cord 12 Ft Uncoiled / 2 Ft Coiled. As part defence from unsolicited phone calls, finally started have, and to pay for, Caller ID. New phone with Caller ID capability came with too short a handset cord. The 12 ft/ 2 ft cord proved to be ideal and still not to take up more space when at rest than the old cord. If one - even ocationally - needs to be a bit away from the phone, this is the cord to buy. Has "standard" connectors that are easy to use, and cord appears to have four conductors - the new handset appears to use only two conductors.

Bought this for my phone at the medical office I work in because my old 1 is stretched and gets tangled/knotted, I didn't even get through a whole workday and this 1 stretched halfway through the day...would give no stars if I could.
