This Clear Power DCOT-0005-DC heavy duty outdoor timer has a 24hr repeating cycle with on/off tabs at 30 minute intervals so you can customize several different times when lights or electrical yard art will turn on/off during the day for that "lived in" look. It also has 2 grounded outlets so you can control two items - even motorized items like inflatable holiday yard art with up to a 1/2HP motor.

It's easy enough to use and has been going for about five weeks without issues. Mine is suspended under the nesting box of a chicken coop and paying itself off in saved heater electricity. The switch has two modes--on, and timed. It would be good to add a third mode--off.Anyway, if it keeps working for another month, it will have at least paid for itself. It doesn't have to put up with direct rain or much direct sunlight, so I expect it to last a while longer. It keeps time admirably.

You can set it in increments, dusk-dawn, or turn it off and on with the remote control. Built for the weather, it is perfect for my outside lights so I can turn them off if I want to star-gaze. Great price for 2

Works as advertised!However, be aware that the hours are marked differently, you will have them a ½ hour off time from one to the other if you're not careful.

I love simple things and this is about as simple as you get. There are 48 pins marking 30 minutes on/off periods for the day. Push pins down to turn on power and pull pins up to turn power off. You can make power go on and off all day long which works for my need to have power on 90 minutes at a time through out the day. No complicated hard to use multi-function buttons on digital timers which need great patience and a some sort of masters degree to set.When there is a power outage, simply turn the mechanical dial back to the correct time and you are off and running again. No reprogramming.

The timer works well, at first you do NOT set the time BUT you can set a REPEAT option that has worked well now for a month.

I actually bought this a year ago for my Christmas Lights, then this year, totally forgot I had bought it lol! But was happily surprised when I found it stored with my lights again this year. I did lose the manual so I had no idea if I had it set up correctly. Came back here and am grateful the Manual PDF is posted as a link.This thing saves me from running out in the cold to turn everything on and off, especially when it's late and I only notice I forgot to turn off the lights when I go to bed.

Purchased two of these...one for the front and back yards. Both have bad sensors and don't turn on when it gets dark, even if you cover them with your thumb. All that works is the "on" position, and you can turn them on/off with the remotes...but I paid for the sensor feature. Dawn/dusk, 2, 4, 6, 8 hour settings don't work. Do not buy.

I have had my fair share of both mechanical and digital timers and know that each brand has their own programming guidelines. For the most part, any particular brand’s instructions will go from point A-B-C in a relatively similar fashion. If you’ve successfully programmed one, you should be able to program any of them. Well that’s definitely NOT the case with this timer. The instructions are clear, concise, and user friendly, yes. The problem I had and I can imagine I’m not the first, is the way this brand designed their program. I found the sequence completely unnecessary and more complicated than it ever needs to be. This timer doesn’t keep track of days of the week, the time of day, or A.M. or P.M. It was my fault for not reading the details of the timer listing assuming it operated like most timers. Now the PROs: 1) The two 3-prong outlets located at the base of the unit are spaced apart allowing you to effectively utilize both outlets with standard or bulky plugs. 2) There is an eyelet located on the wall plug’s cord which is a convenient feature for securing the unit to a wall. 3) A clear weather proof cover encases the display buttons on the unit protecting them from any potential damage from water or debris. Overall, the timer works for my needs.
