My beautiful Friesian Sporthorse paint mare has developed "grapes," an autoimmune disorder most commonly afflicting draft horses. This condition results in marble-size nodules around the hind fetlocks that must be carefully managed. The condition is worsened by sun exposure, dirt/sand, & moisture, which presents a challenge 24/7. Serenade had a bad flareup when I was sick with the flu for almost 3 weeks & dropped the ball. The vet performed nerve blocks, applied a tourniquet & injected antibiotics & steroids into her affected fetlock area. It markedly improved over several days, but management was a nightmare. I was using an entire roll of vet wrap & pads every day. I searched and searched for some type of boot that would work to shield her from dirt & sun, and that was easy to apply. These boots are AMAZING. They are padded and soft on the inside, easy to wash, they fit perfectly, they don't chafe her, the velcro closure is double, so that a flap closes over the top of the velcro and the bottom, keeping it clean These are VERY well made. I purchased two more pairs of these this morning. They are a perfect solution for fetlock sores/issues. THANK YOU!

The Click Fetlock Shields work better than the Bed Sore Boots. They stay in place, no pressure points, enough padding without being bulky, and no shearling liner for everything to stick to. My horse wears these 24/7, that's how comfortable they are. They do a fantastic job of protecting my horses fetlocks. No more bed sores!! I highly recommend them for your horse!

I’ve had these leg shields on my horse for about a week now and so far so good! I was a little skeptical at first — I’m not a fan of the flipped up bellboots method — but these boots have proven to be worth the money I paid. They extend up high enough to cover well over the front of the ankle, they stay put well, and I really like the material. My horse cannot be without some sort of protection on the front of his legs or he will scrape them up badly. I bought these on a recommendation when my previous style of bedsore boots had rubbed a raw spot and he needed some breath ability to heal. Another plus is that they do not put pressure on the tendons like the other boots I had used. These also seem to sit fine with the bellboots that my horse has to wear for turnout. So far I am quite happy with these boots.

My gelding fell hard from not laying down and sleeping enough. The injuries to his fetlocks was horrible. I never thought they were going to heal, because if you need these boots, you know how hard fetlock injuries are to get to heal. These boots are amazing. He is able to lay down without destroying the healing skin. I just make sure to use ointment under the boots and all is good. He has needed to wear these no stop for the past several months as he is a pasture boy. They are holding up and I just use a stiff body brush to clean them up. Amazing product

The Fetlock Shield boots fit and worked well. The velcro was very sturdy. I was also able to successfully machine wash and air dry them, too!: They were a lot less stiff after that but stayed up protecting the fetlock allowing the sores he developed to heal perfectly. They were a bit expensive but worth it.It's now fly season here on the west coast so he is wearing fly boots. It's nice to know that if he needs them again we're ready.

These worked well we have an older horse and he wears these all day long. They do not rub his skin and when he lays down these have been a miracle for him, no sores anymore. They have nice padding and have been on and never and come undone or loosened. I suggest buying 2 pairs we change them out every week and wash one pair and put another clean pair on. They are also nicely adjustable.

I got a pair of these after trying everything else to protect a damaged, inflamed, swollen and split open pastern joint on my horse. He constantly bangs him self with this feet and the swelling and location of a wound would not allow me to use the split boots (as I had been doing for regular turn out). I tried the upside down bell boot, but it hit at exactly the spot where the wound was. These are longer than even the extra large bell boot and allow some "customizing" with the double Velcro closures. I use them on top of a no spin bell boot (like the professionals choice one). The bell boot allows this boot to be more secure and sit a little higher which I think eliminates the bunching issue that others have complained about (I've not had any bunching at all). My horse is turned out in these....even on reverse turn out and we've had no issues. I will probably continue to use these instead of going back to the split boots for turn out because they are working so well, they're tough and don't rub. I'm also buying a second pair!

The first photos are what her legs looked like before and then after. I bought this for my ottb and I have had them on for about a month or so and it’s AMAZING I keep them on all day and night and just wash them with soap and water if they get dirty, it’s super easy. I can’t even explain how amazing this product is and I am now going to buy some for her back feet as well! I can’t even believe how well this worked buy it you will not regret it!
