I usually use whatever needle I can find to sew stuff, but I am taking an embroidery class and I was really struggling with the needle-eyes shredding the thread or being so large that they were making gaping holes in my fabric. I bought these needles and there is such a huge difference - the eye is really long, but narrow, so you can get 6 strands of floss through it, but the needle is so skinny (and sharp) that it is effortless to poke in and out of the fabric - and I am using a very tight-weave cotton. I love them! I can also get a DMC # 5 pearl cotton through the eye easily. They are quite short - size No. 24 is 1 1/4 inches long.

My all time favorite go to needle. I use these needles for embroidery, big stitch quilting and wool crewel work. They last a long time. After they dull from so much use I then use them for weaving in the tails of fine crochet. Best needle ever! love them!

These needles are so superior to other brands of chenille needles! I got DMC ones recently, and these are far better. They’re smoother, sharper, and easier to tgread. Another sterling product from Clover.

The gold needles have a dragging affect on the fabric. The stitches take longer to create.
