It cuts through maple wood with ease. Used it to make a design on wood. Very pleased with results .

I've used this for very fine finish pass carving and it works quite well.

Came from recommendation online. Makes MUCH cleaner cuts and allows for deeper cuts for engraving work in wood.

As another reviewer noted, excellent performance on CNC engraving in aluminum. Cuts relatively clean, with few burrs, at depths up to 0.020" (in 2 passes). Only improvement would be to optimize the grind of the bit shorten the taper so that the bit could be double ended and stiffer. As it is the bit has a very long taper and that makes for some whip. I do like the narrow end for nice, deep, lettering.

This is not 6 bad bit but if you do a lot of 3D/2.5 carving you will be better off with a more expensive one (amana). After let's say 10 carvings the bit gets doll and the color, you can't call this a coating, is gone. That's not a problem but a doll bit is not useful for anyone. So not bad for the price but if you do more 3D than step up to a better bit.

Worked great. I don’t know if it’s meant to be used in a hand held router or not but I was making a something that was pretty detailed so I needed a very fine tip and this worked perfectly.

I use this bit to put my name and personal art on my AR builds. The lettering in the pic of my name is 2.5mm high, the pin at lower right is 4mm (5/32") for comparison. I bought three bits, and am still using the first one after 2 builds which also have drawings on the magazine well (Second Pic).
