I ordered this roll to use as a soil cover or "mulch" for some of my plants. It is very easy to cut to the shape and size I need, and it's a nice long roll. Helps keep moisture in the soil, and keeps water from splashing up on the plants when I water, and gives a nice clean look.

I am using this Coco Liner Roll for a small staghorn fern I was gifted. There is pleny of it, so that I can keep working to figure out the best way to grow this guy! It's easy to cut with my garden shears.Since I've never used this type of product before I did some testing. I cut a corner of it off and dropped it in a bucket of water to see if it swelled or fell apart. Neither happened. I also dragged at it with my little garden rake to see if it would fall apart. No, not really. I can damage it, of course, but animals are unlikely to mess it up.I sort of expected it to hold water, like a sponge, since I use coco coir and that stuff does. This does not. It's just a liner, and a place for your plants to root. It will hold some water, but not much, at all.

This roll of coconut liner is good quality and is a consistent even thickness. Pre-made hanging basket liners are getting more expensive each year. I found that using these coconut liner rolls is the best way to replace my basket liners each year. I even made a cardboard template to get them the exact size and all the same shape. The coconut liner is easy to cut with a good pair of scissors and shapes into the baskets well. The off cuts I use as mulch around my bigger pot plants. This works great at keeping the weeds under control and preserving moisture in the soil. Overall a very cost effective solution for my garden.

Ok, so I did get this for the garden, but it hasn’t quite made it there yet due to being coopted as a carpet between the house and our dog run. We don’t want our dogs to burn their paw pads on the hot concrete and this coco liner roll is great for helping protect their paws when we are having triple digit temps in our area. Maybe this will help clean the mud off their paws in the rainy season too. I do like that this can be used as a carpet and then as it wears down can go in the garden, if I ever get this one back from the dogs. Looks like I’ll need to get another one for the garden.

My three cats have a tendency to kick cat litter out of the litter boxes and track it out of the room where I keep their boxes. I wanted to put down something that would trap the litter that escapes the boxes and keep the cats from tracking it throughout the house. That is why I got this. The product description states that coco matting is almost a 1/3 of an inch thick, but in truth, it is thinner than that, more like 1/8th of an inch. I have to put down two runs since the matting is only 16" wide, but I knew this going in, so no problem there. So far, no additional kitty litter mess. I'm just hoping the little buggers don't pee on it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one.
