This is an amazing device! I use it on my work desk and it keeps my beverages hot. I initially had on sitting on the base of the monitor but it warped it and there was a bump. I removed it quickly and luckily the bump went down and is unnoticeable (thank goodness since it’s a company computer). I now keep it on the wood desk with a piece of cardboard underneath. Be careful what surface you put it on.

I have been using this for the past 2 months and works great. What I like : - Just plug it in to the power outlet and place your cup on the warmer. Unlike other coffee warmers, there is no switches to turn on and off. It turns on with the weight of the cup when the cup is on it, turns off when the cup is not on it. - Ease of cleaning - the glass like surface is easy to clean. I spilled coffee on it many time, but was easy to get it off with some soap water and a wipe. - The 3 temperature selections - I wish this was a sliding temperature adjustment, but I usually set it at the highest : 167 degrees F , because I like my coffee hot. I usually don't give 5 stars to any of the gadgets, but this one gets 5 stars - for the usability and how I easy it was to get used to it that I am using it daily and will miss it if it were to stop working one day.

I gave this a 4 star rating because of a potential problem for some (including me). First it works great for me and keeps my coffee hot, but this is relative. Some like their coffee HOT, but this keeps my coffee (and occasional hot chocolate) hot enough to not burn my mouth. (My coffee maker brews at 188°, so I am not in the HOT camp. This warmer is may not be HOT enough for some. I don't think it will work well for taking cool liquid and warming to hot, but it does great (for me) in keeping my coffee (mediocre) hot for as long as I need.Potential Problem: The switch on this Warmer is pressure activated. For creative and cluttered individuals (non-highly organized individuals) there is the potential for a book, magazine or phone being placed on top accidentally and it turning on. I keep my warmer on the night stand next to the bed. I read at night, and some nights, I keep a bottle (PET) of water next to the bed. The night stand has a lamp on it also. I am constantly concerned that I may lay something on it accidentally or something may fall on it. The weight of a book or pet bottle or cell phone will activate it. Highly organized people will have no problem, but those that are used to a little clutter may have this warmer activate inadvertently. I don't think it would start a fire, but it could melt a pet bottle with water, or ruin a cell phone with a lithium battery, or brown the cover of a book.I am not condemning this warmer as dangerous, but people who are not conscientious, and are maybe very laid back - could easily misuse it accidentally.I wish this warmer had an outside physical toggle or slide switch also - and I would turn it off for the majority of the day. I love its design but am afraid something accidentally might fall on it or be set over it without noticing. I am aware of the automatic switch and intentionally move things out of the way. I am concerned more about half waking in the middle of the night, checking my cell phone clock and setting it down accidentally on the warmer without thinking. An outside/physical switch would be a great addition.

This review is for the black model, with a power button and two temperature settings.Ok, wow. This is one of those reviews where I honestly don’t have anything thing good to say about the product - just warnings to stay away!UL listed? NOPE - not as far as I can tell. Underwriter labs is a private party that tests products for safety. It is not mandated that items sold be UL listed. They are not a government entity - but it’s a really good idea that if you are going to plug anything in to a wall outlet that it has been certified by UL or one of the other labs for safety. They do a lot of testing of these kinds of products, so if it is “listed†or certified - you are likely safe - or in the event your house burns down and this item were at fault - you have a better chance of insurance covering it since UL works with the insurance industry to underwrite products for safety. My experience was this - I had a hot cup of coffee and since I often get distracted, I will often use a coffee warmer to keep my mug warm for obvious reasons. It was a typical winter morning, so I thought I would enjoy a cup of coffee while I do some geeky stuff in my home workshop. I put my mug on the warmer, which was sitting on my desk, and turned it on 131F. 15 to 20 minutes later I go to grab my mug for a quick sip, and notice the mug felt uneven, as though the warmer was sitting on something and causing it to rock a little...I lifted it up to look underneath and to my surprise, nothing was there. I figured maybe one of the rubber feet were off kilter or something, but when I sat it down on another surface to check, it was suddenly rock solid again... then I noticed a large bulge on my desk top protector, which is heavy duty polycarbonate plastic - I thought “gee, that looks like a big blister!†- So I go to put my hand on it to feel if it was warm or something - and I nearly burnt my hand! It was wayyyyy too hot to touch for more than a split second... Where the mug warmer had been sitting was HOTTER than the actual surface of the warmer where the mug is supposed to go! I got to looking at the bottom of this mug warmer and the label on the bottom is starting to bubble and peel from the heat.Bottom line, this thing is crazy dangerous, and I don’t want my house to burn down. I have another mug warmer that does a better job of heating the mug, and the underside never gets beyond warm, and stays cool enough to touch - it’s nothing special, just a simple on off switch with no timer or anything fancy. It’s almost as though this new mug warmer somehow dumps more heat out the bottom than into your mug. It gets crazy hot out of the bottom. I tried putting it on a silicone trivet, but it still gets way too hot on the bottom of the thing and not so good at doing what it’s designed to do, keep my coffee warm! I’m afraid to use it even on a heat safe surface because the thing itself seems like it could melt or burst into flames.Another thing I don’t like is that is is scary easy to turn on. Like the touch controls are very sensitive, and I have brushed it with my hand before, reaching for something else, and turned it on.I don’t recommend this coffee warmer, I would never gift it to anyone - as I don’t want to be responsible for a possible fire, the value is nil if you can’t use the thing without the fear of burning your home or office down, and though it looks very nice and well made, it does not function in a safe manner in that too much heat escapes the bottom, cooking whatever surface it is on (I use my other, old school mug warmer on the same surface and the surface doesn’t get hot or even warm really) and it is too easy to accidentally turn it on! - they could add a delay to the button press of a few seconds that would help greatly, but if it scorches the desk it is on, not much to gain from that! Please don’t buy this thing, and if you do, watch it like a hawk. Set it on a silicone trivet or something that can handle the heat at the very least! Be safe!

Had it for two years and it worked great until one day it just cracked under the heat. Just normal use and the glass broke. I guess it’s good it lasted 2 year, but weird.

I recently had surgery and have had to spend more time in bed and eat smaller meals. But I hate cold food so I bought this and now I don't have to eat cold food. It keeps them piping hot. Love this.

What a super great little mug warmer! It has a pressure sensitive button on the bottom so that it is only activated when a mug is placed on the surface…smart! And even though the temperatures show as Fahrenheit, it is calibrated in Celsius. 131, 149 and 167 F convert to 55, 65 and 75C. Perfect temps for a mug of joe. I bought these as Xmas gifts and people just love them! Highly recommend!

Why did I wait so long to get this?! I am a very slow drinker and consequently I always end up throwing my coffee and tea down the drain. Well no more because this is magical. I choose my preferred temperature and I can take all the time I want to enjoy my drink. It works really well, my coffee temperature is perfect and it isn't really expensive at all. I use mine at home but this would be great for work too. The cord length is good, it gives you options for placement. So easy to use!
