It is WAY heavier than it looks. I bought it for my daughter as a home defense... I mean a softball bat. The grip is slick and grip tape is an essential $15 add-on. In hindsight, a shorter bat may have been more ideal, but it has a good reach and once it gets moving, it's going to break something... I mean hit one out of the park. The price is awesome even compared to aluminum and wood little league bats which are twice the cost. I tested it by taking a full swing at a freshly cut tree trunk. It left a huge dent without a mark on the bat and, amazingly, I didn't feel the vibration in my hands. A must for the dorm, apartment, or trunk. Remember to keep a glove and ball with it. Your lawyer will thank you.

My wife and I wanted to feel more safe having a home-intruder defense option and as something to fend of aggressive animals while outside our house. While indifferent towards guns, we figured a bat would be a safer alternative with kids in the house. For traditional sport use, the 29" (33oz) Crusher is on the light-end for kids and folks with less of a build, while the 34" (39oz) Smasher covers the high end for large adults. But for a home scenario I choose the 29" regardless. By my estimation and test swings, having something longer would make it more unweidly in house corridors that would only be 3 to 4 feet wide in the first place. The weight of the smaller Crusher is relatively heavy for its size, which can be both good and bad. Remember you have to be able to swing this thing on command and with accuracy if awoken from dead sleep at 3am - no warmups or stretching allowed.It has an imitation wood grain to it and almost pitch black in color with the logo in white. The feel is unusual but not bad - just not like any bat I've held before. No grip surface - just molded material all around. As for durability, if you want to see it in action check out what appears to be a video from the manufacturer on YouTube:[...]I haven't had the desire to test it in the same way, but if the video is to be believed, they run over the thing with a truck against a curb and are still able to bend it back to normal. It does seem pretty durable just by feel and a few practice swings of my own. I can find nothing wrong with it for my use case at least. I'm sure baseball-playing reviewers can comment more on its abilities in that regard.While I hope to never have to update this review with how well it held up in a home-invasion defense story, it's at the very least, cheap and strong peace-of-mind for only $30.

this bat has exceeded my expectations I didn't know what to expect because this isn't the typical material you find in a baseball bat it is surprisingly dense because it is made of polypropylene it won't rot or we can overtime the grip is rather slippery but that can easily be mitigated with some hockey stick tape not a bad investment for the price I haven't tried it for its intended purpose but because of the density I think it would work well it is definitely more than sufficient for self-defense

My fiance and I bought this to add to our collection of ways to "self defend" so this was above and beyond what I expected. The bat is heavy, durable, and comfortable to hold if you know how to hold a bat. The size is perfect and it is easy to hold. It looks good too!For reference I am 5 ft tall, around 125 lbs, work out occasionally.

I thought would be lighter than metal bats but it's heavier than I thought. I guess I have to use it for training my kids swing instead of actual game. Too heavy even for adults. But feels solid.

やっと見つけた！！以前は、普通の木製やら金属製のバットだとひん曲がったり、折れたりですぐダメになる…。でもコレは折れない！本当さ！！！いくら乱暴に叩きつけても表面がボロボロになるだけで折れる気配がない。最近じゃ、叩いてる木の方が倒れそうwwマジで最高の筋トレグッズだ！

Superb bit of kit. Made from some sort of super tough plastic, just holding the Crusher makes you want to rush out and start whacking balls into the air. I bought it after reading and watching several reviews on the Web, all of which said it was almost indestructible.The bat is reasonably heavy but this only adds to the overall feel of quality. It does feel unbreakable. After a weekend away where the bat was put through its paces I can happily say that the Crusher is every bit as good as I'd hoped it would be. Slugging away at a heavy ball did nothing at all, and even whacking fist-sized rocks did very little. Apparently just a gentle wipe down or sanding will smooth out any dents but personally I think they add to its charm, and even sending rocks flying did very little to the Crusher anyway. We even tried slugging away at felled tree and the Crusher smashed away branches with absolute ease. Certainly if anyone had tried breaking into our tent at night I think one look at someone holding this bat would send them running. I'm not advocating using the bat as a weapon in any way but after seeing what it can do to a reasonably thick tree branch I shudder to think of its impact on anything else.This is our first baseball bat purchase so I can't compare it to others. We bought it to play ball when we are out and about or camping. If anything the bat is too good at sending a reasonably heavy ball flying. I would suggest getting a soft, heavy ball that will absorb some of the massive impact from the Crusher as otherwise you will spend 80% of your time running miles to fetch the ball. Failing that, it also makes an excellent way of exercising your dog.All in all, an awesome bat that will do everything you ask of it for a long time to come.

Leí algunas reseñas diciendo que es muy pesado; su peso es apenas de 1 kg. La longitud es de 73 cm y esa puede ser la razón del porqué aparenta ser pesado, ya que debido a la forma, la mayoría del peso se encuentra en la parte superior y si no has usado un bate anteriormente, se te puede ir hasta de las manos.Recomiendo que le coloquen una cinta especial antiderrapante o un cordón en el mango ya que al ser de plástico y aunque esté texturizado, se puede resbalar fácilmente.Lo único que no me gustó fue que los logos no vienen serigrafiados sino son simples calcomanías de papel laminado que probablemente se terminen despegando, raspando o borrando. Fuera de eso, la calidad es increíble.
