Use coleman 95 mantles. The off brand does not burn as brite as expected. Very worth it if you know how to refill 1 pound propane tanks. I use refilled tanks on personal property and don't transport. The lamp burns for 3.5- 4 hours on high. Two lanterns will light up an outdoor work space to daylight. Two benzomatic camping tanks refilled 15 times from parent 20 lb tank and get replaced. You can get them half price if used. Two and half cinderblocks for as elevated stands lower shadows. Space 20-25 ft apart. Superbly bright. Very happy.Cons: globe made in china.

I use them when I go night fishing. They're nice and bright and gives off a good amount of heat for warmth. Don't leave home with out them. Also good for safety on the water. If you ever loose power. You have nice bright light to work with.

This is my second one. It’s a bright lantern with that being said it does use a lot of propane on a high setting. It’ll light up the entire camp site.

The lantern is well made and very bright. The new designed mantles are easy to install and really amplify the light.

Works great and turned up to high it lights up EVERYTHING. The push button ignition works every time. Down side the gas tanks can be costly if you use this a lot, which I do. So I purchased 6 FLAME KING refillable tanks for $14 ea. Shop around and you will find a good price. I refill them from a 20 lb. tank and carry an 11 lb. tank with me for my heater in cold weather. More convenient than my old Coleman liquid filled lantern and stove which I gave to my son. I highly recommend the Northstar.

Preiswerte Alternative zu der Europäischen Ausführung. Mittels Adapter (nicht im Lieferumfang) kann man die überall erhältlichen Schraubkartuschen benutzen.

Covers all your needs as a stationary lantern. You can hang it somewhere on the campsite and it will lit the entire place. Case is desired, though the price difference is ridiculous. Extra $50 for the case?
