From the manufacturer

Where We Started

It all began when we created the first portable, gas-powered lantern that illuminated the first evening football game west of the Mississippi. In WWII, our camping stoves transformed the way soldiers ate in the field. We continued to revolutionize the outdoors with our cooler manufacturing in the 1950s, and in the decades that followed we added tents, sleeping bags, lighting, and more.

Where We Are Today

After 120 years, Coleman gear is everywhere you are: on the trail, by the lake, at a tailgate, or in the middle of a music festival. We're always around a place where there are friends, coolers, and campfires. So, grab a tent, fire up a grill, and pull up a chair. The Outside Is Calling. Answer it.

I take them camping. They are on the heavier side but see to be well made and are comfortable.

We’ve amassed quite a collection of portable chairs for many youth-sports-spectator scenarios and we bought two of these chairs for a travel meet. I would not describe this chair as compact or ultra-lightweight but it isn’t crazy heavy. It’s portable and easy to transport especially if you have one of those pull wagons which I wished for after walking about 3/4 of a mile with one of these plus other gear slung across my body.I really hate the way most camp chairs look and feel and this chair is easy on the eyes and most importantly, it’s very comfortable and supportive for many hours of sitting. There’s a little bit of a learning curve with the relationship between the recline settings and physically picking up/moving the chair—every time I instinctively used the armrests to lift or even pull the chair a few inches into shade, the action would easily unlock the chair’s recline setting which would then set the whole chair frame into its collapsing motion for compact transport. Don’t get me wrong, the chair is solid when opened into a seat position and will stay that way—it won’t spontaneously go limp but I did find this aspect a bit tedious and haven’t yet had another opportunity to figure out how to avoid that—I’m assuming there’s a way.

Only 4 stars because it’s awkward to set up. It should have a locking system for the bottom seat portion like the back of the chair. . It also has a screw on each side of inside arm rest that keeps scratching my arms. Capt. Crabbie is going to switch it out w/an “acorn” nut so the screw doesn’t scratch me. If they could add a lock so the chair legs don’t close up when you move chair just a tad that would make this chair a 5 star review

At $80 a piece on sale I was hesitant.I like them so much, I now own 3 of them.Too bad they do not offer other colores. I wanted the Coleman green to go with my other Coleman gear. Like the thick aluminum construction so they won't rust like powder coated cheap china gear. They have 3 recline positions. And pleasant looking wooden arm resta as opposed to cheap nylon covered foam pieces.

The Coleman folding chair I purchased is very comfortable and has a nice recline feature. I’ve actually been using it in my living room while it’s raining out. However, it is a little bit on the heavier side and can be a bit difficult to fold, so it would be better suited for a patio rather than taking it to the beach or park. The design is very attractive, but the folding mechanism can pinch you if you’re not careful. Overall, it's an great chair that serves its purpose for outdoor seating, but it's not the best option if you're looking for something lightweight or easy to transport.

I was a little upset that this chair was priced at over $100, but it really is a sturdy high-quality chair I would recommend… most lawn chairs are very flimsy and feel like they’re going to tip over easy, but this was very well built.. still not sure it was worth over $100 but definitely high-quality

the chair is comfortable. Packs down reasonably well compared to some others that I have had.

Took it camping in the mountains and found this chair to be too unstable on rough ground plus too heavy and awkward to load and unload. Went back to my old reliable Coleman chair with a lower backrest yet somehow felt more comfortable and easier to use for car camping with a tent. Will use this chair mainly on my deck in the city.

Coleman have made the perfect camping chair! I have spent a long time looking for something like this and it really is perfect for a camping trip. Extremely comfortable, and I’m still able to just about rest my head on the backrest (I’m 6ft3). The recline feature is an added bonus and the chair packs away nicely.
