I've wanted one of these lanterns forever and I finally got it ! I wish I'd got it sooner. I absolutely love it !! It puts out a lot of light and is so EASY to use !! I bought a tree hanger and hang it from a tree sometimes to really light up the campsite. It does put off some heat and a little buzzing noise, so if either of these would bug you, don't buy but instead go with something that runs on batteries. I haven't had anything run by batteries that puts off this much light, though. The base will fall off when you move it around, too ... so, just know this and be prepared. Overall, does the job and is very sturdy. I see this lasting me for years to come.

Bought this last week for a two day camping trip. It worked great and as expected was much brighter and warmer (both color and temperature) than our other smaller LED lamps we brought along. Others have complained that the base fits lose on certain propane tanks but perhaps because I had it on a coleman tank the fit was nice and tight. The handle is a bit flimsy as others have mentioned and I think that is probably this unit's weakest point. Someone here posted some good ideas on how to fix the relatively minor issues of the base and handle. With that said I would not hesitate to buy this again or recommend to anyone looking for a bargain priced lantern

purchased before camping memorial day weekend. It arrived 1 hr before we went out the door! Great timing. I have always been a fan of coleman laterns and had them growing up. I have been using battery for while through college and the first few years out of school. It was time to upgrade to propane. It was just as a remembered, the sound, the brightness, match lighting, everything. Make sure to do a nice slow burn in on the mantles with low gas and puff it up to high and back down to low. It makes the mantles nice and rounded and should last a while. The lowest brightness is still very bright and all we kept it on. After shutting the latern off give it a good chance to cool off until you can touch it. Then use the carrying case. This is a major upgrade from the ones I used to have. We always had to be very careful in transport. Now you can protect the globe in a hard shell. Still take care when handling but certainly way better than ever.Everyone we camped with loved it and wants one as well.

Nice lantern. The latter housing stores away better than most other similar class lanterns. It clamps together very securely in a plastic clamshell. The operation is just ok. The starter requires the fuel knob to be reset each time. This was a little annoying when it didn't start a few times. The hardware doesn't seem to be the best quality. The carry handle on mine popped out a couple of times while move it. The light itself is very bright. It lit the entire camp site easily. The settings on the fuel knob are positive clicks allowing you to dim the light easily. The lantern was also very efficient. We ran the light from 7 to about 2 am and there was still plenty of fuel in the tank. The base does not attach to the propane tank. The tank just sits in it. Not a backpackers piece of equipment. It was way to bulky. I would definitely recommend this product to any base camper looking for good area light.

I used to have a similar lantern for camping years ago, but I lost it.I recently went on my first camping trip since then, and I knew that I wanted to have a Coleman propane lantern on hand. All the new LED lanterns are nice and good, but they don't take a beating or survive adverse weather like a metal Coleman propane lantern.I was glad I had it on my trip. We didn't have any bad weather, but we did get a late start, and we needed good light to set up camp and cook dinner.I put this lantern on a post connected to a 20lb propane cylinder, and it lit up the whole camp as bright as day, just like I remembered. The protective case is plastic, but reasonable. The way the knob clicks instead of just slides is new compared to the old ones, but it's not a problem or anything.

Colman lanterns have been around for decades, but you usually had to buy the lantern and then the case. This one is an all-in-one and comes with a convenient case. Makes the whole package great and very easy to use.

Took this camping a couple weekends ago (08/08/2020) and was able to use it setting up camp in the dark. Even on the lowest setting it was plenty bright. We enjoyed this propane light over the harsh LED flashlights we had when we were just sitting by the fire. Priming the mantles was easy, but I definitely recommend priming them before camping so if it does get damaged (the mantles are very brittle after priming) you can get spares at your local hardware store. Works awesome, you don’t need to buy the more expensive models....as long as it’s in stock...
