I ordered this on a Monday night and it shipped directly from NY Brew Supply early the next morning and made it to Florida on Friday. Thank you for such quick service! Living in Florida, it's a challenge to cool your hot wort quickly. I purchased this as a pre-chiller to my Shirron plate chiller which works well, but the groundwater temps in Florida are warm year round. I did a test today and here are the results. The water temp straight out of my garden hose was 79 degrees after running for 10 minutes filling our pool. I submerged the Immersion Chiller in a 5 gallon vertical Rubbermaid cooler filled with icy water and tested again. The water temp had dropped to 67 degrees. I haven't cooled an actual batch yet, but have no doubt this is going to chill a hot wort in minutes. As a side note, the product is made well and very clean. Recommend!

1/2" wort chiller is 1/2" O.D. tubing and NOT 1/2" I.D. This is intentionally obscure b/c 1/2" I.D. is larger more expensive copper tubing. Seller description should be updated to read 1/2" O.D somewhere. 1/2" O.D. is good for a wort chiller but I was hoping for larger tubing when using in compressed air aftercooler application. Otherwise quality looks good.

I purchased the 50' x 1/2" NY Brew Supply Wort Chiller with garden hose connections. I have zero complaints after using this to brew a few times. This product has good construction and quality fittings (no leaks) and cools hot wort quickly. I appreciate that the separation between the coils is slightly adjustable and that the fittings are high enough and outside of the kettle that they are easy to connect and disconnect without risk of contamination.

Now I live in New England and have pretty cold tap water, but this thing chilled my wort much faster than expected! This is a little bit of an investment for a beginner brewer but it makes brew day much more enjoyable.

Mounted it in an old charcoal grill to use as a wood fired pool heater and it works well.

How much of a difference does 3/8" to 1/2" make??? A LOT! Space the coils out with copper wire and 5 gallons of wort will go from boil to pitch temperature in about ten minutes... I had absolutely not issue with the packaging, the product was delivered on time and in great condition.I washed the product in warm water using a soft brush to get any factory oils or contaminates off.

Don't waste your money on this chiller. This is my second one and both leak at the fittings. If you don't tie a towel around it, water will spray in your wort. Total junk.
