This is a well-proportioned but crudely molded and finished model of a Vespa scooter. It’s not a moped, as the copy suggests. At one time, the name “Vespa†was synonymous with “scooter.†This model has the classic look and is one of a series of models that are available. The copy on the product page suggests that this can be used as a cake topper! It’s not die-cast metal but rather injection-molded plastic. The basic proportions compare well with photographs of the prototype. The details are crude, as you can see in close-up photographs such as those I have included in this review. The handlebar controls are an example of blobby detail paired with a very nicely printed speedometer, applied off center. The headlight lens is clear plastic, with the ribbing well molded. But the rest of the lights are opaque paint over plastic blobs. Finally, the metallic paint is very grainy. There are many metallic paints available for hobbyists that are much more refined.I would have no problem if this model were located in the cake-topper sections of Amazon and priced accordingly. But it’s priced and described as a scale model. I’ll be generous and give it three stars.

This little Vespa will be a gift to a coworker and I am excited to give it. It is mainly made of plastic and rubber, so it’s really light, but I like the details on it as it seems like a good small replica of the “real thingâ€.The front wheel and handle can be rotated in both directions and the kickstand can be raised and lowered. However, I am keeping it on the stand for now. The paint job looks well done, I wasn’t able to find scratches or nicks on it.It arrives in the original box and is pretty giftable.

My son was playing with it and it broke just as he was playing with it. The quality is not that great.

Wife had one just like this, but lighter blue, in 1978 - this is replacing that one long gone. Detail and finish are good for the price point, not perfect but nice, nonetheless. This probably would not pass muster for the true discerning collector, but for our shelf and the wife's smiles, it's just fine.

This arrived smashed into pieces. None of the other items in the box had any damage, so I have to conclude we were sent a broken one. What's left of it Is screwed to a plastic base. The vespa itself feels very cheap, not metal. The handlebars had snapped off, and the front wheel was broken off. Straight into the trash with this garbage!
