I have not installed yet, but the finish is really well chrome plated. Caught my engine on fire and burned up the stock plastic cover cause it filled up with gas from line leak and caught on fire when I started vehicle. If I would have had this chrome metal unit, damage would have been minimal.

Searched Amazon for 4L80E Flex Plate Cover and this CFR Performance cover came up. I knew the TH-350/TH-400 Flexplate Cover was similar in design, but not the same as one for the 4L80E. I have a TH-400 transmission built for another application so I went ahead and ordered it. The cover came in (I was pleased with the shipping time) but this cover did not even fit the TH-400 transmission correctly. No biggie because "My dad is a TV repair man, he's got this ultimate set of tools, I can fix it". Anyway, after about an hour and a half with the plasma cutter, die grinder, and TIG welder it fit the 4L80E transmission. I should have just made one from raw material, it probably would have been quicker.

Part did not line up at all in a 1969 TH350 trans...holes all off by half an inch or more. Had to modify part to make it fit hole for starter too small as well...
