This cable lock is exactly what I was looking for to deter someone from grabbing the laptop in a public place. The cable is long enough to allow me to love the laptop around and plug in accessories, and it’s plastic coated so it won’t scratch the desk. It’s also much nicer looking and seem more flexible than other cable locks that I have. The black color of the cable and the shiny lock are very nice.The code was easy to set by following the instructions and the dials turn easily and try smoothly.Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make this lock, or another brand that I purchased, fit in the security hole in a Thinkpad 14S. The hole in the laptop is a little bit too small. Luckily this lock came with a separate anchor plate that you can attach to the back of the laptop. The anchor plate sticker is very sticky and will not be able to be removed by a would-be thief.This lock also comes with some spacers that allow you to snug up the lock to your laptop or anchor so it doesn’t wiggle around.This cable lock will definitely do the job it was intended to do.

The first lock I received didn't work properly, but it was replaced very quickly and the new one works fine.The only aspect that I'm not crazy about is the numbers on the lock don't "click" into place as well as I would like and it can be challenging to get the numbers lined up precisely. Otherwise this lock is good. I like the length of the cable. It gives plenty of length to attach the computer to something sturdy.I didn't use the adhesive lock attachments so I can't tell if those work well.

I go to various establishments to do work on my computer for hours at a time. This allows me to leave my computer for obvious reasons without having to ask a stranger to watch it for me. It gives me peace of mind. Very easy to use. Small enough to put in my computer bag.

This is my first security lock for a computer and I'm very impressed. Within a few moments I chose a spacer and secured the lock mechanism into the computer. It doesn't wiggle, can't be pulled out without, I imagine, extreme force and the cord is long enough to loop around the leg of a table. There doesn't seem to be a cheaply made piece to the lock system, so I feel very secure taking the computer to my favorite places, like the library, while being able to take bathroom breaks when needed without packing everything up.

It seems that the newer notebooks, or at least some for certain manufactures, have different size hole for the notebook lock than the standard size. Most of what you'll find in stores, including electronics stores, are just the standard size. SO this was just the thing for my new Gateway computer. It locks perfectly. My only complaint would be that the side that shows the combination is facing away from you, so when locked you have to pick up the computer and undo the combination. The head does swivel, but not enough to go all the way around. Still, this is a good notebook lock.
