We bought our house about a year ago and have been looking for an effective, budget friendly solution for our master bathroom window since then. We have a 5 foot window that looks straight through the master bath out to the street when the blinds are open, but when they are closed, it is very dark. We wanted the natural light but also wanted to keep our privacy. I've looked at hardware stores for reasonably priced privacy film and the cheapest material we could find that covered the area we needed started around $40. I found this on Amazon a few weeks ago and it seemed too good to be true - $5 for 9 feet?? Definitely worth trying for the price, even if it didn't work. Having tried it, I am extremely satisfied and have even recommended it to several family members. It works just like contact paper but has the light-diffusing diamond pattern that provides great privacy as long as you are further than about 8 inches from the window. If you are right up against it (as my toddlers like to do) you can see them from outside, but as soon as you walk a bit further from the window, everything is completely obscured. I found it relatively easy to apply, and put it up using the heel of my hand to press it on and smooth out any bubbles. Even if there are bubbles, they are almost impossible to see from the inside - I pretty much had to run my hands over to find them. It is forgiving material and I was able to stick and re-stick it a few times if I started a row then realized it wasn't level, and it didn't seem to leave any residue behind. We have been using it for several weeks now and it has performed admirably, even when the bathroom gets very humid. Even if it were to wear off in time (which I don't see it doing for years) it would be inexpensive to replace. Definitely a wonderful product that I would use again in a heartbeat because of the price, quality, and ease of use.

EDIT: THIS WILL BE THE FOURTH TIME I HAVE GOTTEN THIS. I MOVED and while I have reflective window panes, doesn't help at night and also I like keeping blinds open during the day and even if people can't SEE IN, I can see out and I have a view of parking lot and trash bins! When I have company, just as soon not see that, but want to let all the light in.---------------------------------------------------INEXPENSIVE, EASY for even someone not handy (like me) to put up, and LOOKS GREAT. ADDS PRIVACY and IMPROVES my view!_______________________________________OK it is CONTACT PAPER, so it's got that adhesive on the back and you have to be careful because it can stick together. BUT I am NOT a handy person and I managed to get it on four small windows.I was rushing when I got to the last one and it all stuck together and there wound up being a small tear or scratch but not even noticeable unless you're right up to it. This looks FABULOUS in the area I have it in. Looks expensive and the grid almost makes it look like it's part of the pattern in the transparent curtains I have in front of it! AMAZING for privacy.Let's in ALL the light, but I don't see anything and more importantly, nothing can see me. I am up high and often wondered how much was visible when I had lights on. Now I know at the MOST there may be a slight shadow. IF I CAN PUT THIS UP, ANYONE CAN! For the money, take a chance. It looks great and worked perfectly. NOW would I use it for a really BIG window where people could see it up really close? Probably not, but for my needs. WOW. The best five dollars I've spent on home decorating!

I used to use this all the time when I was making labels for items. I used to put a picture of something between the contact paper for an easy laminate solution. I have been doing that, and making print and play games at home, using this to give them extra durability, and it has not disappointed.Pros - Goes on with a nice matte finish, that is fairly anti-glare. When placed on a printed piece of paper (I have been using light weight card stock) the image looks great and vibrant, while not shinny. I like it better than items I have actually laminated because of this. Items do not curl after this was applied to the card stock either (which can happen from lamination) - just apply from one end, working from the middle out and you will have a great, easy, laminated product with NO BUBBLES.Cons - None really, but if I had to try to come up with some, it can be slightly more difficult to work with using regular paper (pretty easy to try to reposition the one time I did it with card stock, but harder with regular paper, yet I was still successful) but I don't think you can fault the product for this as this is more related to user error. Additionally, for laminating items, it does not give the rigidity that a laminated piece of card stock would which I can't fault the item for. Lastly, once the backing is removed, it can be more difficult to cut (even with the card stock in between, but I have been using a paper cutter so for me it has been fine.Overall - 5 STARS. I almost feel like either the product is better than I remember, or I am just better at applying it because I have had no issue whatsoever while using this product. My labels, and games look great!

Worthy product. Easy to put. Have put in on my window to make it opaque still allowing some outside light to come in to the house and it has held steady for over 6 months now. Recommeding this product.Only things - it can be a little cheaper still worthy to buy if you dont have better alternatives.

Has its own adhesive but is easy to peel and reposition as you are applying it. Provides great privacy, but lets some light in. Works well for me for a bathroom window to prevent anyone from seeing in. Large roll and excellent price. Would purchase again.

dislike is Price, use product on the book as cover & found the price of cover is more than the book itself.

Installed it on a sidelight window near the front door. Was so simple due to the grid lines on the back of the product. Luckily where I needed to cut was right on a line so I had the right size needed for the window cut in just a couple minutes.Installing it was a breeze. I did it in portions from top to bottom and used a credit card to make sure there were no bubbles under the film. The end result is really nice! Lots of light still comes in while being totally private! You cannot see in or out now. At most you would see blurry shapes.Previously we just had a curtain in this window, but this is so much better.Definitely recommend.
