It all started on snowy day in December when my two year asked for one thing and one thing only to be on her Christmas list..... A trumpet! I frantically looked and stumbled across this listing and I'm glad I did!My daughter was 2 turning 3 a few weeks later and it is perfect for her age. My 1.5 year old plays with it as well so I will definitely say it grows with the child which is a major plus!I appreciate the fact that the ON/OFF button isnt too obviousl, so as long as your child doesn't see you turn it on or off it may save you a little noise when you want a little break, but the actual trumpet part is just a blow piece so that is something they will always be able to do.Now to the potty training part!!!!If you are having a hard time getting them to release I have them blow the trumpet and when they blow it makes mommy dance! And guess what they pee! It also really helped my child who sometimes likes to hold their poop because when they blow continuously it's hard for them to hold it in. Once I hear it come out we celebrate with the trumpet!!!I encourage you to try it, if not as simply a toy but to help with potty training! Hope this helps!

So I got this for my 20-month-old. Since I got it, I have been subjected to a near constant stream of 'music'. My kid loves the thing. My saving grace was that I could turn the volume down to a manageable level. But that went out the window when the kid learned to turn it back up. I tried turning it off, but the knob that turns it off is also the knob that turns it down, so the kid had already figured that out. Hopefully the batteries dies soon.In all seriousness, my kid does love this trumpet, however my teenaged band kid calls it a 'trumpet shaped object'. I do like that the volume can be turned down or even off. This is small enough for my kid's small hands but the buttons are big enough for uncoordinated toddler fingers. Blowing through the mouthpiece produces a kazoo like sound and it seems like it should be played the same way.All-in-all, a nice way to introduce small kids to musical instruments.

My 2.5 year old daughter loves this! Has a variety of options for fun use and different age levels to be able to play with and enjoy it. It is not overly loud and doesn't drive me totally nuts like some of our musical toys. Good realistic sounds and it is lightweight enough that she can easily carry it around and play with it.

My 2 yr old bonus kid LOVES this! He hasn't set it down and wanted to go to sleep with it. This is fabulous for little kids. They can grow into it a bit, but there are no small pieces that would pose any kind of choking hazard so it's great for the Littles.
