Worked perfectly, I used the included screw on both sides to get a good lock. No issues with the threading for the screw. I would recommend if you have a 2002 or older. The install was easy but I’ve replaced them before.

PITA to install but once that’s done it fits well. No way to stop the adjustment screw at the end of the latch from turning.I keep the little hex key they provide in the car to adjust it.

The Allen screw that is supposed to hold the entire thing in, and is the reason for replacing the current broken one is too small, it barely reaches the top of the hole and won’t improve the problem. No instructions.

Be sure to check both latches and all screws before install.A little disappointed considering the price paid. Of the two latches, one had the hole drilled to large. As a result, it will not work with provided screws and is thus unusable.Other latch was fine, but I installed it prior to finding the defect of the other. Not going to bother removing and sending one working latch back with a broken one.Unfortunately, I don't really see a way to request either a half refund on my purchase or get another one latch to be sent. Just be sure to check after it comes out of the packaging.

If you own and older Miata your latches aren't holding properly. It's a multi-stage journey to the final fix.The first thing you'll do is place the sun-visors over the latches and pray to your favorite deity that they keep the top from flying open at 55 mph. This will be fine for a while, but eventually you won't be able to take it any more. The next step along the way is the "cheap do-it-yourself" fix. You remove the latch buttons and drill and tap them. You insert a couple of screws to close up the gap caused by the wear. This method can actually last you for years - as long as you can live with this janky, hacked-together fix. (I didn't let it bother me for two years of ownership of my 2000 NB.)The third and - if you're fortunate - final step in the journey is to replace the latch buttons. That's where this product comes in. They have an oversized "bump" on them to easily make up for the worn out part of your original latches. If things are REALLY out of whack, these latches are tapped and threaded and include two different types of screws to try to get things working properly again. The new latch button worked PERFECTLY for my passenger side latch. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky on the driver's side. Close inspection showed that the mechanism on my car is actually bent - so I'm going to have to spend the money on a brand new set of latches. (If I'm putting a new one on one side, I'm putting a new one on the other side.)A completely new set of latches is the final stage of the journey and will fix my problems. It's also the most expensive: I found OEM Mazda branded latches on everyone's favorite auction site for about $200 and that's a steal. The $50 price tag of these buttons is really all you should need to pay unless you have worse-than-normal damage as I did.Even though these buttons didn't quite solve my problem, it was through no fault of their own, it was a unique problem with my vehicle.I plan to utilize these buttons when I get my brand new latches because I like the little padlock icon on them. Plus, the fact that they have a larger "bump" to catch the latch should mean a more secure and longer lasting locking mechanism.

I've been dealing with a rattling noise coming from the latches on my 94 Miata for some time now. I wanted to see if a rebuild kit would help. This billet aluminum button feels very high quality and well-manufactured. So far, it does make it smoother to operate the top, but unfortunately, has not solved my problem entirely. Regardless, I am still a big fan of this new button.
