I'm very happy with this mattress protector! The other mattress protectors I have tried in the past have been the terrycloth-style ones with plasticy bottoms that sleep hot, crinkle, crease, and bunch up beneath the sheets, slide off the mattress, and sound like I'm sleeping on plastic when I move around. I hated them all and ended up giving up on mattress protectors altogether for several years in favor of cushioned mattress pads. When I purchased a high-quality and expensive new mattress recently, I finally decided that it was time to relent and buy something to protect both the mattress and its 10-year warranty. I was not looking forward to it, based upon my poor experiences with waterproof protectors in the past, but the Coop mattress blows the terrycloth-style protectors completely out of the water! It is thick for a mattress protector (not as thick as a mattress PAD, of course, but there is no reason it should be. A protector is meant to protect your mattress, not to add padding), very soft, stretchy, and visually pleasing. It stays put very well and does NOT crinkle or crease beneath my sheets, or come loose. It also doesn't change the feel or reduce the comfort of my great-quality new mattress in the slightest.I have a thick mattress that requires deep-pocket sheets, and the Coop protector fits perfectly, but seems like it would also fit lower profile mattresses well, as the edges are strong and stretchy with a lot of grip. It also doesn't sleep hot or even warm, which was the claim I was most skeptical about. It doesn't actively cool me (it might offer active cooling if you're sleeping on memory foam, but my mattress is an innerspring, so I can't speak to that), but I have found it to be completely temperature-neutral, which suits my needs. The one thing I would say is that calling it "noiseless" is a bit of a stretch, but only a bit--I do hear a soft, susurrus rustle from the protector when I first get into bed, but it really is very subtle and not at all unpleasant. Once I am in bed, I haven't noticed any noise when I move around.I definitely recommend washing the protector per the included instructions before putting it to use--I have a feeling excessive heat could do damage to this protector, but a cold wash and a low-heat dryer cycle left it soft, fresh, crease-free, and smelling like nothing but clean laundry.I haven't had the opportunity to really put the waterproof qualities of this mattress protector to the test, but I have had some...shall we say...significant monthly feminine leakage, and I can happily say that not only did it protect the mattress completely, but I was able to spot clean most of it VERY easily (the fabric seems stain-resistant even though it isn't advertised as such), and the rest came out effortlessly in a cold wash.I really am just over the moon about this mattress protector. I can't imagine that I could find something better for the price point, and the fact that it is sold by a small family company just makes me even happier with my purchase. I highly recommend it!

We just bought a new mattress, one of those with the gel, comfort foam, and base foam, totaling 12 inches. So I now needed a new mattress protector. I knew it needs to breath, and I wanted it waterproof. I bought a mattress pad (another brand) that advertised zippered bed bug protector and waterproof, had a terry top on it. First night slept hot, and I did not like the feel of the terry beneath my sheet. I went to every store in my city, and all the mattress pads were puffy. I wanted something that would not change the feel of my mattress. So I went to Amazon to do some review reading, and came across this Coop Home Goods, Ultra Luxe Bamboo one. Had a lot of positive reviews, so I ordered it. Right out of the bag, I liked the feel of the material, and it did not have that rubber smell. But, It did not look like it was going to fit on my king bed, so I had to try it on. Fit Perfect. Since I never use anything new without washing it first, I decided to stop by the kitchen sink on the way to the washing machine, and give it the waterproof test. I held the material, and my hubby poured a glass of water on it. I swished it around a bit and it did not leak through. I would hope if I spill on it, I would wipe it up immediately, but wanted to make sure it was somewhat resistant. Seems to be very resistant. See photo of water in a puddle on the pad. Next, I washed it according to instructions, soap, no bleach, no fabric softener. I did it on quick wash with low spin. It does hold water in the washing machine. I gave it a second low spin cycle. Then into the dryer on cool, fluff. I reached in and re arranged it a couple of times so it would not just roll up into a ball and kept it from being wrinkled. It was even softer and was not full static, and wrinkle free, when I removed it from the dryer. Put it on the bed. Nice, smooth, and flat. Plenty of side material to tuck in under the mattress. Did not shrink in the washing process. Slept on it 7 nights so far, and it does not scoot around on the bed under the sheets. It does not sleep hot, in my opinion. Totally not noticeable, but I feel my new foam mattress is now protected. I told two friends, they both placed an order. I bought mine through the seller Marlow's Mercantile. Came Prime, on time. I have received 2 emails from the Coop Home Goods, to follow up on the order, and offer care instructions, which was appreciated. So far so I am very pleased and thinking about trying the bed pillows that Coop Home Goods offers. I would love to buy this mattress pad in a twin XL, but that is not an option. Wonder why there is not a twin XL option?I think this is very high quality, just what I was looking for, and would not have recommended it to my friends if I did not think so.

We’ve purchased way too many mattress covers all to be ruined in the wash, not actually waterproof, or crinkly/uncomfortable. This one is none of those. It’s done very well in the wash repeatedly (we have it on both of our kids’ beds- they are young enough that night time accidents are a very regular thing) it washes up beautifully, we’ve never had a leak onto the mattress, it’s got a soft feel to it, it doesn’t make any noise, it is well made- no seams have split… WELL worth the extra money. It’s perfect, no complaints.

This mattress cover is different from other brands I've bought. It's lighter and quieter and doesn't have that plastic feel. I don't even notice that it's there. And my husband (who is very temperature sensitive) hasn't complained about it being hotter. Though I wouldn't say it's cooling either. The edges seem delicate with a mesh like material so I'm careful when I put it over the mattress. But it's held up well so far. I would definitely purchase again.

I was looking for a mattress protector that would offer "cooling" benefits as I am a hot sleeper. Its certainly cooler than my last protector but if your looking for a magic cure for hot sleep this isn't it. After a while it gets as hot as other protectors I've tried. I haven't spilled anything on it yet so can't rate the actual protection but thats not what I bought it for anyway. What I will say is that for an item supposedly in stock in Australia and was dispatched the next day for it to take 18 days to get to Metro Melbourne is a joke. In the end I can only guess they shipped it from the USA and then to Amazon Australia. How a USD$58 item gets converted to AUD$178 has got me stumped. Meh to Amazon Australia

My husband is going through a never-ending phase I call mano-pause that makes him roasting hot in bed (wink). But seriously, this mattress cover is a great price, fits our mattress well and so far, is keeping us cool. It is quite smooth (slippery) and when we have our microfiber sheets on the bed, it does seem to make them slide around a bit but doesn't make them slide off.

I purchased this item solely to cool down a memory foam mattress, and that's the only advertised feature I'll review.I'm in Montreal, and for those who don't check date stamps it's December. That is to say, it's pretty cold now. Average indoor house temps for us hover around 18-19 though we do spot heat specific rooms up to 21-22. At night it's generally around 18. That said, I was will sleeping hot on my 5-month old Silk+Snow queen mattress. I'd wake up some nights literally drenched with sweat. I'm a 5'8" 155lb guy who really never sweats much and sometimes forgets to wear deodorant because I don't need it. So clearly the mattress is the cause, and rather than return it and deal with all that I opted to attempt a quick-fix first, especially since I don't sleep nearly this hot on our guest bedroom Douglas memory foam.I purchased this cover since I absolutely love their pillows, both the standard and Eden versions and never sleep hot with either one. Reading reviews for various mattress covers didn't point to any single one being better than the other. Invariably for each one you'd see some people love it and say it worked, and some say it did nothing, or even made things worse. So I went with what I knew to be quality. Hint: Check Amazon.com reviews when there aren't enough on the Canadian site, if you didn't know... just scroll down. I also purchased, in conjunction, a Utopia microfiber fitted sheet since it was cheap and rated well. So I have not tested the pad on it's own, nor the sheet on it's own, and quite frankly I can't be bothered to do it now since...It worked. I'm two nights in, and will definitely update my review if something changes (I'll also update in the Summer when our room temps will regularly hit 25+ due to enormous windows and evening sun. But so far the difference has been enormous. I wouldn't say I'm sleeping COLD. It's not dramatic. It's just enough for me to comfortable. I fell asleep wearing a long-sleeve t-shirt (a major no-no previously!) and woke up in it, normally, in the morning. That's how I knew it worked. Not a chance I'd have managed that before. I was down to sleeping shirtless with a single blanket, or occasionally taking off my t-shirt in the middle of the night, removing the blanket, etc.I slept in a t-shirt with the comforter on (!!) the first night, and with a long-sleeve and blanket the second night. So it's definitely cooler. Whether it's the combo of items, or one more than the other I can't say, but they work. For a total of $65 I'm happy. I can try the mattress pad solo when I was the sheet. It's soft enough to sleep on, though not as cozy as their pillow covers which I love. It's thin and very easy to put on with deep sides. Perfect fit. The sheet was a little more fuss and still isn't even, but I'll save that for the sheet review.Anyway, if you're thinking of trying this to cool down a hot memory foam mattress, give it a go. Combine it with a microfiber (or better, tencel, etc.) sheet and give it a go. The worst that'll happen is it won't work and you can save it for a guest bed, or return it.
