This is a great yarn bowl. It came packaged very well. The hole for yarn is closed, but the flames are a little higher in the front of the bowl and the low points can work to guide yarn as well. It’s a good throwback to howls moving castle, very cool.

I love this bowl, its heavy and weighted. It feels like good quality. All of the edges are smooth. The yarn is very low quality but thats okay, because I didn't get this for the yarn.

I've shown this to two friends and they have both tried to steal it. They don't even crochet! Or knit!The bowl is fired clay, beautifully glazed. The yarn never snags and pulls smoothly out of his adorable little mouth. My favorite yarn bowl. Its a large size and easily holds a whole skein of yarn.

The only negative here- you may need to cut your yarn instead of being able to pull it back out unlike some of the other yarn bowls I have seen. But you can use several yarns at a time through the mouth if they are small enough to fit in the bowl together. Calcifer (from Ghibli, excellent dupe) is adorable and will look like it's throwing up yarn while you crochet/knit projects. The bowl is smooth, with no rough edges to catch the yarn on it is free to spin about in there while you throw your stitches.The bowl is stuffed with the yarn pictured, and a few accessories to get you going, you may need to buy crochet hooks or knitting needles to begin creating some fun projects unless you have some already. This would make a great gift for beginning artists who love Ghibli characters. You don't have to know who Ghibli is if you adore the bowl it is quite charming as is. Store the bowl on a sturdy stable surface. you can add non-skid pads to the bottom to avoid any toppling or slippage (sold separately) or place on a nonskid pad (camping style cut-to-size shelf liner) to set it on.The value is excellent considering all it comes with and it makes a great birthday gift, Christmas, Mother's Day, or other special occasions.Use with care, if dropped it will break since it is ceramic. If you don't like it for yarn, you can always use it for storing other things (like a remote control, or junk on the table), or wrapped candies/snacks.

Very cute item. Small amounts of yarn in each of the bundles so I would buy it without the yarn in the future. But I am having to send it back due to the fact that at the curve of the flames in two areas the pottery was not trimmed smoothly and are very sharp and could possibly cut somebody. They are going to send me a new one and hopefully the problem won't exist on it.
