Used one of these on a metallic fs box on the exterior of my shed. Permanent power to a shed isn't allowed in my town so i use an extension cord to power the lights and outlets I hardwired in my shed with this motor outlet.With the current cord, it's a tight fit both in and out of the outlet but that's a positive imho as there is no chance of the extension cord accidentally coming unplugged.

Thought it would be like my 1st (lasted 10 yrs and 3 different vehicles) This one is weird with different plugs. Some feel like they aren't even plugged in (and they aren't I verify) Others struggle to plug in, and other just won't plug in at all.Like everything else, it gets more cheaply made over time.

This does the job. I used it to put temporary power to my chicken coop. Wired a light and an outlet to run my heat lamp on those cold nights. Easy to plug my extension cord in. Door closes and seals up nicely when not in use.
