TL:DR It's a great little heat gun for using on shrink tubing. I would buy one again. At first I did not think it was going to work. To my surprise, it worked pretty well. I use it with shrink tubing on my RC cars and crawlers.Pros:Fairly quick to heat upBattery poweredEasy to use once you read the manualAbout the size of a bananaCons:You must the read the manual to understand its operation. It will not get not as hot as a real heat gun.The fan is not as powerful as a real heat gun.

No hot air coming out, just some light that I can hold my hand 1 inch in front of without it being too hot. Then after a minute red light went off and flashing blue instead, now I can't even get the "heat" light to come back on for more than a few seconds. This never approached being able to use on shrink wrap, let alone solder, and now does nothing at all.

I love compact devices, especially, when you don't have to plug them into the wall outlet. This is a nice handy tool that fits easily into any tool box and can be used anywhere.I used it to take off the back cover of my cell phone to replace the battery. It worked like a charm. I applied heat for 2 minutes and the cover came right off without any prying. The specs don't say what the power rating is, so I calculated the active power rating (P = V x Ah) and is 14.4 Watts. That is low wattage and the blower fan is weak, but, it will get the job done.It works well for electronics, cellphones and computers, but it doesn't work that well on heat shrink. It will get the job done, but is kind of slow. A lighter works faster. However, for a small d-c device with a battery power source of 3.6 volts, it works pretty good. Therefore, I give it a rating of 4 stars.

Liked the way it was cordless and compact..battery didn’t last as long as I expected it to.

This little heat gun has worked great so far! And as you can see in the picture I took with a thermal camera, it really does get up to about 600℉. I realize that the picture only shows the temperature at 574.1℉ but that was the best that I could do. I still don't really have a lot of experience using a thermal camera, and the temperature would fluctuate depending on where I would face the mini heat gun. It sure didn't feel like it was blowing that hot, but apparently it is. It certainly blows hot enough so that I can't keep my hand in front of it.Anyway, it sure is easy to use. However, you might hold down the button for a few seconds and have nothing happen. And that might be because they say to hold down the button for like 3 seconds to turn it on, yet your particular mini heat gun might take holding down the button for a little longer before it starts up. With mine it seems like I have to hold down the button for 5 or 6 seconds. Which isn't a big deal really, as long as you realize that could be possible and to try it instead of just assuming that if it doesn't kick on in exactly 3 seconds then it doesn't work. Well, once it's on with the blue light on, it's just blowing around the room temperature air. When you are ready though, you just push the power button, like the regular quick press of a button, and the light should turn red and the heating element should come on. You will know for sure that it is on because the tip of the mini heat gun will be emitting an orange color. And then from there, you can push the button again and go back to the blue fan mode, and then again to go back to the red heating mode, and on and on and on, lol. When you are ready to turn it off you just hold down the button until it shuts off. Just like powering it on though, it might take longer than holding it down for 3 seconds to turn it off.

Bought it back in May but never used it until now. Does not power on even when connected to charger overnight. Build quality is also shoddy.
