I make tamales every year, using corn husks as traditional, but they involve a lot of care, sorting washing, soaking sorting again, etc which takes up a lot of time, I do these by myself, so the task can take me weeks to get through, so that I have enough for my steady tamale lovers. This year I decided to make things easy on myself and work in small batches, and start early, so I could take my time crafting my exotic (wild game) meat fillings. But all the stores have on shelf now for corn husks look like they spent too much time in the Texas heat, and I thought I'd see if I could source them in bulk. Came across these in my search and after reading feedbacks decided to give it a try, since local stores wont stock husks until next week. Wow, they take a lil bit at first to get used to, seems the masa will stick to everything except these wraps, (spreader, spatula, cutting board) I used a piece of parchment and a roller on top of masa to spread the easiest, but I was also able to spread and stack masa covered wraps, and then just fill roll, tie, stand in steamer and tadaaaa, perfect every time. I make dinner sized tamales, 2 make a meal, and these were exactly what I needed to cut some of my labor and time from my tamale labors. Each paper is same size as the one before it, this makes for a dozen tamales of uniform size and weight. These parchment paper wraps, require no cleaning no soaking and they stand up to the steamer and instant pot. No bust-outs down the tamale like can happen with corn husks splitting when the masa expands. I have made 6 dozen already and have more on the way, as I love the easy and time saving of these lil gems, who knew such a thing existed? i checked my local stores, they too have never heard of such a thing....WOW

These actually work really well. I only gave 4 stars due to the fact that corn husks are preferred, but since I can't find any in my area, I purchased these. I will say that I will purchase again.

They are larger than we usually use but we loved them. Great quality also. Didn't forget to buy string if making your own hot tamales. Lol

I was disappointed to see that these are shaped like rectangles and not like a corn husk which is narrower at the bottom and fans out at the top. I'll probably have to cut these to the proper shape or learn a new way to roll them. Other than that, they seem like they will work fine.
