This is made for professionals, so it make sense to buy this for your outer leaf trimming needs. You can buy Corona products at Home Depot - I did - but they are of a lessor, "home owner" quality. This means they will not last as long and most definitely not do as good of a job. That is why I purchased this trimmer. I previously bought a Corona lopper with aluminum handles after my HD lopper broke...which had wood handles. i think Corona is the gold standard for running and garden needs. Visit their web site and then call them to get expert advice for your particular needs.

I bought these on Amazon instead of my local hardware store because they were nearly thirty dollars cheaper. They arrived with the blades so warped you could pass a couple of nickels through them while closed, not at all like the quality shears I expected after seeing them in person. It makes me think that it just may be better to pay a bit more and buy my tools in person, at least I will know what I'm getting. Disappointedly returning a tool that I needed.

This is a fantastic set of garden shears. We had bought a pair from a high-end local garden store and they were not very good, so we wanted to get some really good ones that would last.They are not too heavy, very sharp and well made.It actually was able to cut tree branches up to sizes between a quarter and half an inch thick just using the blades (we did not understand about the limb notch at the bottom of the blade at the time), but I don't think that it was very good for the blade so we aren't going to do that again. :0)Although the picture shows green colored handles, we got burgundy, which was just as nice.

I found the Corona AH6970 Hedge Shear to be a quality product that leads me to believe that I will get many years of problem free service from.
