Made of 14guage stainless steel. Should last a long time. Markings are clear and accurate

I love these. This takes all the guess work out of determining what settings for welding. Also helps to just be able to determine thickness for other projects as well.

I can never remember the decimal equivalents of sheetmetal gauge tables. So I got this gauge set as a quick reference. The flat gauge shows both the gauge number and the decimal equivalent steel. So I'll keep this at my desk. However, it's a little disappointing, but they forgot the 12 gauge slot. The gauge wheel is for stainless steel, and is handy for keeping out in the shop for checking wire and sheet thickness. It's also much heavier, at 14 gauge itself.

I recently got this dual-sided thickness gauge, and it's been a phenomenal addition to my toolkit. The accuracy is impeccable, making my welding projects much more precise and reducing the guesswork significantly. The stainless steel construction is robust, handling tough conditions without any signs of wear. The laser-engraved markings are clear and easy to read, even in low light, which speeds up my work. It's not just for welding; I've used it on various materials around my shop and for home projects. It's handy and reliable for any measurement needs.Small and lightweight, it fits easily in my pocket, always ready for use wherever I need it.This gauge has improved my work quality and efficiency. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of precise measurements.

Had been looking for something like this to help me gauge the thickness of steel as I learn to weld. Brought it in to my company's master welder and allowed him to look it over - he said that it looks and feels like a quality gauge that should stand the rest of time. The measurements are on point, the laser etchings and quality steel this is made out of he said surprised him, and while he doesn't need these to determine thickness (30+ years welding) he said it would be absolutely fantastic for someone starting out to help them determine thickness. Based on the functionality, accuracy, and cost - it is safe to say this is a fantastic tool for new and experienced welders alike!

It took forever to get this delivered but it seems like a good set and accurate. It's a good small size that fits nicely in my welding cart drawer without taking to much space. It works well for figuring out the thickness of random pieces of steel I have around so I know I'm welding with the correct wire or rod. The engravings are well done and easy to read. I think it's a good value for the money and will provide you with a quick easy way to make sure you're working with the right welding materials.

I own a digital electronic caliper micrometer. It's state of the art but never quickly tells me what I need to know about the thickness of materials on offer or the thickness of materials I need to order to match what I already have. I have frequently spent an hour or more looking at printed tables, trying to figure out what I have and what I need to purchase. Classic tools such as this which are based on trial and error means of determining the size of something are much quicker and easier to use. You can even take a photo of one of these gauges showing which size opening fits what you have. The opening sizes are clearly marked. You don't need to know the name of the gauge measurements you are using. Someone in the industry will know just from looking at the engraved sizes on the tools. I am about to finally figure out what gauge scrap roofing materials I have on hand. I use the scrap for various projects around the farm and don't want to damage the cutting edges on my shears by cutting metal that is too thick for the particular tool. Also good to have on hand if you do plasma cutting or welding where it's extremely important to know the thickness of the material you will be working on.
