You have to take the tissues out of the box before you put them in, as it's too small for a tissue box, but it looks amazing and is well made.

I wanted to replace the tissue box cover that my sister had in her guest room since the nearly half quantity flat tissue box was not something easy to replace anymore. I went on a search on Amazon and saw several boxes to consider. Finally, when I saw the stylish look of stacked books in a wooden form, it made me want to try it. One consideration was that the box I was trying to replace was also uniquely designed. I believe someone gave it to my sister as a gift. It is fabric made like a couch with throw pillows. She had not problem with me picking a more traditional style as long as it was brown in color. Since the couch tissue cover was not solid but green and red, I believed this book design with its three on the spine but the primary top color being brown should be a good fit. Once it arrived, and placed in the room, the variations of brown wooden furnishings in the guest bedroom, and our parent's retro horse lamp with yellow, brown coloring and gold trim, make it work just fine -- it helped that I was in the room at the time I was doing my search on Amazon. I could look at just where it was intended to be placed against the various choices available. It is a perfect fit -- we are both very satisfied! It adds a special dimension of charm to the room. I have to remember, as with the couch tissue box cover, that the tissue standing up from it is its purpose after all. Such an entertaining way for it to be available for use. Right outside this room are books on brown bookshelves -- so in its way, it ties into that home library type theme too.

The box is fully functional and it looks nice, but it has this REALLY BIZARRE STAUNCHLY AWFUL smell that then permeates your kleenex tissues. So, when you go to use the tissue, you try not to gag when blowing your nose. I have used a Lysol wipe to try to wipe away the smell, but it over powered the Lysol wipe. I don’t know what is causing that smell but even letting it air out for a few days did nothing. I love the look but I cannot bare the stench especially when you have to put it’s contents literally right up to your nose…And, I asked others to smell it and they had the same reaction.I don’t know if its the paint, the sealant, or the material, but the maker REALLY needs to figure that out and switch to something else, because it’s a cute design otherwise.

This is so cute!! In perfect condition and fits my Scottie’s Kleenex boxes no issue. For a bigger box it would be no problem just to take the Kleenex out and place in the decorator box. It’s just lovely.
