Excellent. My pedals had developed the dreaded bearing indexing. With the help of the online instructions, I had the pedals disassembled, cleaned up, greased and reassembled with new bearings in an hour or two. Good as new! Online instructions were very helpful, but it was a little unclear regarding the exact orientation of some of the parts. As always, pay attention as you dismantle them. Looking forward to several more years of use, abuse and neglect!

I used this kit to refresh my Crank Bros 50/50s. This kit replaces the original needle bearings, which are the inboard bearings, with some bushings (most likely Delrin), which will work just as well. The outboard bearings and inboard seals are replaced as well. The pedals have been great, so I'm looking at getting another several years out of them.

Warning, if you have plastic caps you will have a bad time but then be rid of them forever. I had plastic caps and the problem is the plastic is malleable enough to give way under any torque from your flat head but tough enough that it'll stay seized in there unless you carve it out. Don't drill it out, you'll hit the spindle nut. If you're able to make a hole big enough for an 8MM socket to fit you can take out the spindle and then drill out the rest of the miserable plastic cap. The kit comes with metal end cap so you will never need to do this ridiculous exercise again. Everything after that is a breeze.

Refresh kit worked great to repair a set of blown out pedals. Took one star off because the instructions are NOT correct for current Eggbeater 1 pedals. The step that says to use the punch to knock out the bushing can't be done. There is a seal in the way on the other end that prevents the punch from going through. I emailed Crank Brothers support and the technician's response was that his "best guess" was to remove that seal to get the punch through. I went after it for about a half hour with a screwdriver and have determined that seal is not coming out. To get the bushing out I had to gouge a flat screwdriver into it and slowly twist and pull out until the bearing came out. Very frustrating that the instructions are wrong and tech support doesn't appear to have the answer either.

My stamp 3 danny mac pedals developed a clicking noise after 1 1/2yrs of heavy use. Bought this kit and replaced all the innards. Good as new. Easy to do! Also got new peg screws so really good as new.

The pedal body of my 4-year-old candy 3 pedals pulled right off the spindle last week. The only thing that was holding them on was the small cartridge bearing on the outside, and once it wore out it creaked for a few rides and then pulled right off. I bought this kit to rebuild them, and it works great. The pedal spinning on the spindle is a bit stiff at first since the main weight-bearing bearing has been replaced with a bushing, but I'm sure that will loosed up with some use. At this price, I'll probably start rebuilding these pedals yearly to prevent another failure. Learn from my mistake and rebuild your pedals when the bearings starts to have significant play!

I own 2 pairs of Eggbeater 3's, and although I love the easy entry/exit, their bearing are not the most durable. I just rebuilt my older pair (the outer cartridge bearing seized) with this kit, and it is disappointing to install an inboard "bearing" similar to the bushing used previously on less expensive pedals. My initial impression is that the inboard "bushing" has more friction that the bearings originally supplied, as my 6 month old eggbeaters spin much more freely. It remains to be seen if the rebuilt pedals improve after a few hundred miles, and how far they go before failing. Looking at the materials I cannot help but be skeptical.

Good kit contains all the components and easy instructions to install. Also tells you exactly what tools you will need prior to install. You do need to have a smart phone to read the QR code for the instructions. They no longer include the paper ones.
