I have no complaints with this crepe maker. It does exactly what I expected. It heats up quickly and evenly, and makes beautiful crepes every time. It would have been nice to have an instruction manual or user guide along with my recipe book; I'm not sure if it's supposed to come with one, but mine was missing. Despite the missing manual, there is not much to it so I was able to use it just fine. Tip: There is no on/off switch it just turns on as soon as you plug in, so keep the dial all the way down when you first plug it in and try not to touch the plate, it heats up quickly!Making crepes with this is super easy. Literally all you do is turn the dial to the temperature you want. The first part of the dial has a nice warmth that I use to melt a little bit of butter on it and pour my crepe mix to smooth out over the surface. Then dial it up to the second section where you choose how you would like your crepe light to dark. Just let it sit for a minute or so and flip once to cook the other side, then your crepe is done. The surface of the hot plate is very easy to clean. The only part that isn't so easy is if you use too much crepe mix and it overflows on the sides, it gets stuck in the crevice between the plate and the rest of the unit. Not impossible to clean, but a little bit of a pain. Normally, if you use this crepe maker correctly that wouldn't happen so you would have no problems, but this was a first time user error for me. Oops!Any problems I had making crepes with this were due to me being a novice crepe maker and not knowing what I'm doing, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly and actually use this multiple times a week. I love this crepe maker! Excellent purchase.

Awesome griddle. We used it HEAVILY for just under 5 years. It is just now showing signs of age because it will sometimes not heat up. I feel like I got my money’s worth and will be purchasing the same one again. My family quickly learned that we don’t really like crepes but we use it for all of our other griddle needs an I love that it is the most compact griddle you can find in the market.

I purchased this crepe maker machine and am very pleased.POSITIVESIt is good for making crepes or pancakes or other items you where you would use a griddle. Really nonstick griddle. Cleans up easily. The flat nonstick surface did not leave any sticky residue behind. Nice large 12 inch size. Cooked up evenly. Green light indicator tells you when it is hot enough to start cooking, so that is convenient and reliable. Does not take a lot of time to heat up or to cook. Good that there is a hide away cord as this is electric and cord is not an issue this way. Fun and easy way to get children involved with the process of making food. Hint regarding picky eaters -- when they are involved with making it there is a better chance they will eat it.NEGATIVESDid not receive a physical book, but only an ebook version. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Ironically my first crepe was excellent!!! I must have had beginners luck but I couldn’t master the perfect circle after first try. But it is such a fun machine and it cooks crepes effortlessly and cleanup is a cinch! For something different than a pan on a hot stove — this is perfect!!! Get it now!!

While I appreciated the fact this this machine came with a recipe guide (which is great, though lacks page numbers in the table of contents...) I really wish it came with a guide/manual to explain its properties because it would've prevented me from making the following mistake in the beginning.Instead of listing temperatures, it lists "Light" and "Dark" for me - which is kinda weird since Amazon's image preview lists "Min" and "Max." Anyway, naturally, I started out making crepes in-between the "Light" and "Dark" setting, but the crepes were taking just as long as they would on a frying pan on stove, but worse - in addition to that lengthy (3-4 minute) cooking time per crepe, the first few crepes would always break for some reason.HOWEVER, after a few months, I decided to measure the in-between temperature I was cooking the crepes at, and it turned out that temp was far too low. I then measured the "Dark/Max" temperature, and the highest temperature turned out to be 350° F, which turns out to be the best temperature to cook crepes at, which I proceeded to do - and a crepe would cook fully on both sides (and get the nice lace-y pattern) in less than a minute! I was so happy to realize this, just wish I'd done so sooner!I still had the following issues with this machine, but most of them were minimal/fixable1) The batter spreader and wooden spatula are not sanded! They feel very rough.2) I also realized that I didn't get the same spreader listed in Amazon's preview. Their spreader is a complete cylinder, which spreads crepe mixture by twirling the spreader to spread the mixture in a circular motion. However, my spreader has a FLAT side, so it spreads by pushing the crepe mixture into one direction at a time, which I think is much harder, especially since I can only use it to spread/push the batter towards me (whereas if I push the batter outwards, it just doesn't work out/rips the mixture). To fix this issue, I now pour my batter at the end of the machine that's farthest from me, and then I proceed to pushing the mixture towards me/spreading as evenly as I can3) I used this machine on multiple flat surfaces, and in the beginning, when pouring mixture onto it, the mixture would always pool towards the same corner. Then I realized the bumpers on the bottom weren't evenly inserted in the machine, as some protruded more than others. I tried to equate the heights, by pushing the taller/more exposed ones in, but they wouldn't budge. I took pictures, which I've attached side-by-side, but I'm not sure if you'd be able to tell the difference in the bumpers' heights. But I found a quick way to fix this is by using the highest temp setting (350° F), the right amount of batter (between 1/4 cup and 1/3 cup) and spreading the mixture as fast as possible, which is easy enough to do to avoid this problem as once the mixture is evenly spread out, it will set within seconds. If you want to be extra-assured, you can always place a thin object underneath the shorter bumper(s) as well.4) Although the machine says "Ready", when measuring the temperature, it was still increasing a good 50° F more, so I generally wait about 30 seconds after it says "Ready" to make sure the machine is actually ready/Honestly if I didn't live in the Caribbean, where returning items to the other countries is an extreme hassle and not to mention, very expensive, I would've already returned this because of all these issues I listed above. But I'm at least glad that most of these issues have a sort-of fix, and at the end of the day, these crepes still cook fast and are yummy.
