I've seen loads of these online and even some sellers buying generic sets and rebranding them. I'm big on crosswords or sudoku in the morning and this is a great way to bring that type of puzzle with you anywhere. The box is cute but you can even throw the dice is a sealable bag to take camping or on a trip where they might be exposed to the elements. Fun way to get your brain going in the morning!

The choice of letters as they land seems impossible to unscramble but with thought and persistence, I am able to use all of them. The box is an important, lovely display on a table that invites repeated usage. I would order more for friends when the pretty box is back in stock. It is a great game for grandma to play with a grand child learning to read.

Cute little box and lightweight wood dice. Big letters printed on. One letter R is printed way off center and it runs off the side. Would be great if replacements were available but it looks like they don’t even have anymore sets at this time (12/24).

The dice are ok quality. They are smooth and won't splinter. The letters are clear on the dice.The box is the cheapest trash that they could staple together. It is badly assembled and made of the thinnest wood they could find. I do not think it will hold up very long.That being said, the cheap box doesn't stop you from playing the game. It is a fun little word game and can keep you entertained for quite a while because you can play it over and over with different letters.

I am very pleased with this game. The box is well-made and looks nice for a gift. The letters on the tiles are very clear. I ordered one to make sure it didn’t look cheap. After receiving and trying out the game, I ordered 2 more for my adult children’s Christmas stockings.

I ordered this game thinking it would be fun to try, and I am so pleasantly pleased with it. It is fun to play, but it is also absolutely adorable. It did not come with rules of play or anything other than the wooden box with the wooden dice inside. I found the rules of play on the advertisement. However, it is a 'crossword' type game, to be played by one person (solitaire).I love the way this game looks, in or outside the beautiful wooden box. It has a warm worn and rustic homey look to the dice. The box is adorable as well, with a map of the world look to the inlay; edged with detailed woodwork, with a swinging worn and aged brass looking hook-like latch. The dice all nest nicely inside the box, with an easy close and latch.I really like the look of this game, but I also like to play it.

QUALITY OF PARTSThe map design on the box looks like it will vary. The design on mine is similarly tan, but not the same area of the image. There's a gap on the base of the box. One hinge was placed on the top piece, and another on the bottom, which I'm not sure is a mistake or not (I've never seen hinges applied like that before). Basically, it's a rustic-looking box.The dice are real wood, with rounded corners, and the letters are printed on them.GAME PLAYTo play the game, you give all the dice a roll. Then, the goal is to try to connect them in a crossword-like manner to solve the game.While I've been able to solve rolls, a roll is not always solvable. But "winning" is made a bit easier by the strategic layout of the dice and the fact that you'll always get at least a couple of vowels.The game is really clever, and it's nice to have a challenging game that only requires one person to play.BUT . . .Now for why I have mixed feelings in reviewing this game. There are videos by the man who invented the game, where he explains how it has been copied. This is more of a generic version than the ones being sold in tins, and doesn't look like his.But I also found a list claiming to be which letters are on each die in the original game. I don't know the layout for each exact die, but went through these dice, comparing them to the letter content on the original game. These dice have the same letters on each die.So while I think the game is fun, and this wood version of it is a creative version, I would rather have the official version.
