To put on the billet knobs on for a custom look, I searched the internet, and after finding mixed suggestion, I heated the shift (using a candle) to loosen the glue that holds the original knobs on, and after a bit, they slipped right off. The new billet knobs have a set screw to ensure a snug fit to the new shafts.

Had to return the first set of these I bought for an 84 CJ7 as the chrome was coming off before any use. These cables have a cheap feel. I used a Dremel tool to carefully cut the knobs off to install my own billet knobs. I believe they will work as intended.

If your air control doors work smoothly then these cables should work for you. But if they bind or move hard you'll either kink these cables, rip the knobs off or break the plastic retainer clips.

I purchased these in Dec of 2018. As I write this in April of 2020 two of the cables have separated from their housings. The plastic sheath that wrap the cables are just pushed into the plastic housing that the control knob is in, there is nothing mechanically fastening them together. The first one separated months ago and the second one just in the past couple days. I'm going in a different direction, these are terrible.

Look like good quality cables. I was surprised that they included 3 cables as in picture.The description says cable.Anyway they work great and dressed up my jeep dash on my custom install.
