Our furnace is getting old and one day I thought I smelled something coming from the vents. We have combination Smoke/CO detectors, but they aren't inside every bedroom. So I decided I didn't want to risk it and bought this device.0 ppm straight from the vents0 ppm in the kitchen0 ppm everywhere... *except* in the garage!Alarm went crazy when I turned the car on, so I know the sensor works. It gave me peace-of-mind this winter, and I will continue to evaluate and report back any findings.Appears sturdy, seems to be of high quality.

I bought a large bullet heater, thinking it would release a ton of carbon monoxide. To be safe, I bought this. To my surprise, it didn't. Don't gamble on a gas you can't see or smell. This could save your life. My car's exhaust made this thing go off the charts, providing warning sounds, lights, and vibrations. It is a great, well-made product.

Very nice product. Easy to learn to use and it shows a lot of information. I tested around the house but it showed zero results. I haven’t tested it in the garage with the car running yet but will either try that or my propane heater in the future. Other reviews say that they have tried it with immediate results.

The detector works, but in testing it by putting it close to my car muffler with engine running, the detected level remains for a very long time (several minutes), even after you remove the detector from the source of the CO. Perhaps this is normal behavior for this type of detector, but it makes moving it around quickly to detect CO in several different places in a short time impossible. Also, the time and date cannot be set. The displayed date was off by one day, and the time was off by several hours, and will not change no matter how many times I try to set them properly. The time and date setting function is very simple and straightforward, it just doesn't work.

I compared this to a $1k calibrated GMI meter and I was impressed with how similar the readings and response times were. Tested this in an enclosed environment to get accurate readings. They were basically completely the same. Great quality for the price.Oh, and passwords are 11, and 222.

Item title: TOPTES CT-580 Carbon Monoxide Detector, Rechargeable CO Detector with Vibration, Visual & Audible Alarms, Portable CO Alarm, 0-1000PPM, TFT Color Display for Home, Car, Camping& TravelDelivered price with Prime: £39.99How is it packaged?: Retail BoxWould I recommend? YESSuitable as a gift? YESMy comments and opinion: Great well thought out bundle - eye catching packaging, lovely premium storage box, convenient charging, good display. Appears to work as it should from first detection testing. Without any professional air quality machinery to compare against I cannot say if it is a life saver or not but it certainly is better than nothing and gives a great quality impression from my testing.

I just recently had my furnace replaced due to a cracked heat exchanger. The furnace was only 9.5 years old, but the heat exchanger was cracked in four places. When I called the gas company they measured a CO level of 27 PPM throughout my house. The inspectors CO alarm sounded as soon as he walked in the door.I had a Kidde portable CO detector that read as high as 50 PPM. The new furnace is now installed and I used this to check the levels in my home, and everything is reading zero. This unit is well built and very responsive. To test the device, I lit a small piece of paper on fire in my kitchen sink and blew it out. As soon as I came near the smouldering paper the meter reacted almost instantly. It also sounded immediately when I went near my cars exhaust.I am very pleased wih my purchase.
