My bad. If I wanted to measure the clearance under my rod caps, I should have gotten a kit with the blue Plastigage too. Green worked for my mains. I am going to trust my machine shop on the rods.Green for .025 - 0.76 mm (.001 - .003 inch).Red for .051 - .152 mm (.002 - .006 inch).Blue for .102 - .229 mm (.004 - .009 inch).

I used these to double check the crank and rod bearing clearances on my polaris rzr 1000 engine rebuild. Kit was just the ticket for that extra piece of mind. Width chart is easy to use and understand.

the person who packaged this ruined it by folding it in thirds before putting it in the bag. why would you do that. this stuff is brittle.
