Silicon Carbide for a Fine Finish
The Scotch-Brite EXL PRO Deburring Wheel contains silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
The Scotch-Brite Advantage
Non-woven technology makes Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives unique. A combination of fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral forms a thick, open web. The spring-like nature of the fibers responds to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, which in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity. After using this deburring wheel for a while now, I realize my fab life has notably improved forever. This is an essential item and wish I would have known about this wheel sooner. Works great for metals (personal experience with steel, Al, Ti), plastics (acrylic, polycarbonate). Actually pretty aggressive material removal for a fine grade, but once you get used to the resulting surface finish, it's very useful. This wheel material fits midway between an Aluminum Oxide grinding wheel, and a buffing wheel. Great, now I need another grinder, lol..

Expensive, but much cleaner & safer to use than a grinder wheel or sander. Cannot be dressed like a typical stone grinding wheel. Will polish cut metal nicely, not for paint removal.

These wheels are the greatest thing ever for deburring parts. They are much better than a flap wheel on a grinder because they do not remove material like the flap disc. I use this for flat bar and other raw stock straight off the saw. It removes burrs and mill scale for weld prep.While they are a bit pricey they are worth it in my opinion. They are directional, so be sure to pay attention when installing.

Good deburring tool. NOT a grinding stone. You can not over cut aluminum faces. so its great that way. you can see dust comes off it so it is sacraficial.

Scotch brite wheels work wonders. They will even de-bur carbide!
